Simple answers are simple. Push the far left pedal and move your gear selector to a standing position. You can verify this by rocking it left and right. You should have travel and you'll know you've got it. ?

I agree with this. Once engaged the clutch (assuming you aren't past the power levels that the friction materials can withstand), isn't really wearing much. Most of the wear is during initial engagement (1st and reverse) or during gear change, but can largely be mitigated via rev matching
