Yeah I stupidly forgot about the fantastic pan thread. I ordered one ?
I should have corrected the question to just fluid. Didnāt know if anyone was using any other fluid besides the OEM one.
I have been considering changing the transmission fluid for a while. I suppose it canāt hurt. Comes with a new pan and seals. Iāve got 11k miles on her. A lot of them track miles. You can also get a metal pan, such as the one in the M3/M4. Found on another thread...
Glad youāre back in a Supra!
Many of these things happened to me as well - in the beginning of ownership. I bet the longer you drive her, the more in tune you will become. I can burn through about any pad Iāve owned if I really get on the brakes. The smoother I drive, the less brake chewing and...
Funny you ask. I just mentioned this on another thread
https://www.supramkv.com/threads/is-there-such-a-thing-as-to-order-a-2025-through-a-dealer.23487/page-2
You have more leverage than you know. I know two guys who just recently bought MSRP manuals with beige interiors ? One of them right...
Dealers will cut a lot of the bullshit if you use terms they are used to. Out the door is a common term for them. Junk fees are as well. The dealer has plenty of holdback (profit built in) on the vehicle. That being said, I always ask: 1) if there are any junk fees 2) whatās the āout the door...
Slightly :offtopic:
Same for trans fluid? Iām used to doing the diff fluid annually for track use. Curious on the transmission fluid. Being my 1st auto/ZF track car. Thx ??
Coming from a dedicated track S2K, I prefer the car to rotate easier. Thus I tried adding some toe out (up front) on the Supra. She didnāt like it however, lol. Got some errors on the dash. My car was lowered at the time. Hindsight is 20/20. It was too much all at once. Went back to neutral toe...
With ya. A ābattery managementā light came on the other day but went away. I figured I might as well swap it out. Iāve got a PowerTex lithium phos sitting around waiting for this moment anyway.
Iāve rarely had a battery last more than 3 years in my hot salty area. So I bought a PowerTex LiPO4 battery for the Supra. Same brand is in my MX5 & works like a charm. The ābattery managementā light came on the other day. I figured I might as well swap it out. Going in next month for some track...
If looking for something built to order, we donāt have that option. You have to search inventory across the USA or hope your local dealer will get one and will price it at sticker. Thus it pays to shop around here as well - for price and color combo.
My wife had a 2016 5.0 GT manual. It was fantastic! But not nearly as refined as this Toyota/BMW Supra. Both out of the box and with some basic suspension mods. The Supra is more of a precision track tool and the Mustang was more like a sledge hammer. Best way I could describe driving both...
