Iām no Garmin expert by any means. In fact I attended a free help session this past weekend is why Iām extra hyped on it ?. One of the guys, in the timed series I was in, was able to show me lots of things I wasnāt accessing.
Itās definitely nowhere close to what Bryan is doing. Thatās some...
So easy to do. Was telling another guy that asked the same thing this past weekend. Seat time is really the best investment of all, after fluid, pads, tires.
Have you considered a Garmin Catalyst? It shows you areas you can concentrate & improve on. Even has a voice coach while driving. Tons of...
Updated PB at Homestead this weekend. No HP engine mods other than catless dp (& AWE track exhaust), suspensions goodies, sway bars and Maxxis RC1 tires
Really appreciate it Tom! You never think someone at such a young age - their life could be over so quicklyā¦. Canāt avoid everything (drunk driver in this case). At least he listens when his mom and I tell him to drive extra safe. Really hit home.
If anyone has ever considered HPDE for their...
One like Chuck linked above and moving my seat back, pull quick to lock it & scooting it forward does wonders for keeping you tight. Doesnāt beat a real race seat ofc. But in the meantime ?
Iām currently doing that now with the Supra. Have a kneepad. I knowā¦. blasphemous.
We went so far down the wabbit hole with our S2k that I swore this time I was going to try and keep her closer to stock. Thatās definitely the next biggest upgrade I need to do next, with sliders so both of us...
Appreciate it! Retain Log Grouping Settings is not turned on.
Also there is a newer firmware, BMW B58 GEN 3 SENT. I currently have BMW B58/B48/B38 Gen1/Gen2. Should I download & install the latest one before logging? Or would that loose my custom tune map 6
Drove over to Homestead yesterday. Wife following with our SUV (VW GTi) & equipment. Been a while since my last track day. Hope I donāt break too much stuff this weekend ?? Iām running SLS and the Mrs. is doing some HPDE they have sandwiched in there. Should be a blast!
The garages are full...
And yet itās so hard not to want to do EVERYTHING ?
I was lucky that I had some good track/race friends constantly correct me with all the magic ? mods I was going to do to my 1st track car (Mazda RX8) and make it quicker, lol. Depressingly, seats were the 1st thing they told me to get. They...
Holy shit Tom is spot on!!!! It takes lots and lots of track days to get more comfortable & confident with the car. A new driver can add a ton of stuff but it wonāt matter until they get the feel with their ass & dead pedal on what to do at high speed.
Eventually steering input corrections...
Going to the track this weekend. Been wanting to do this for a while after talking to you last year about this. When not running in my timed series, I can drive in some HPDE sessions. Iām using 93 octane & have a catless dp, nothing crazy. With a passenger, what do you recommend they could do to...
Likewise thank you both for the explanation - What you both said ? My thought was it moved me further away from the spring/strut & allowed the alignment guru to dial in more negative camber. Guess itās not that simple. I do have more neg camber up front going into this weekend. Hopefully sheāll...
Yeah, good point. Not well said on my part. Ability for more tilt (neg camber) and not hit the springs ?
If I could do it without it, I would. It just seems to work better when weāve tried with and without.
Definitely no spacers? I was rubbing prior to getting mine. They make it a lot easier to tuck under the fender & get that extra neg camber. I have 10mm all around w/ stud conversion.
Iāve heard on BMW forums people using a walnut blaster to remove carbon deposits on the intake valves, pistons, and/or cylinder heads. Either of you do this or plan on doing it (before the 30k recommendation)?
Yeah I think too many people want to see how fast these things are and donāt know how to handle it. Add to the fact the big distracting iPad monitor instead of quick glance gauges. And even worse, the few idiots who donāt know how to grab the wheel or brake when using auto pilot...
The drag guys on here love EOS making it a solid choice. However, Iād checkout Razorlabās build page. Heās done lots of track days successfully with extra HP & an aftermarket manifold.
I used Meryl at Marvel Auto Transport (833) 627-8351. Make sure you ask for her. She runs it - has her own drivers. A Porsche buddy that moves his collector cars referred her to me. Offers everything from an individual car to ride sharing like I did. They are constantly running all over. So itās...
