I know AliExpress can be very hit and miss but I bought mine there for a reasonable price and I'm 100% satisfied. Perfect fitment, zero quality issues.. they even have a genuine BMW internal shell.
So I tried to invoke the "rev-matching on upshift" and well.. no offense, but if you are experiencing this feature or heaven forbid, using/relying on it, you are simply not driving a manual properly.
Are you lot for real?
EDIT: For clarity, I managed to get the rev-match on upshift function to...

EDIT: Wrong thread.. but I think both threads are talking about the same...
Interesting. I'll keep an eye out but I haven't had a single downshift missed.. that I have noticed, at least. And I'm still at a loss as to the rev matching on upshift since it has been suggested that it only works at a much slower gear shift than a regular run of the mill manual upshift...
I haven't had this experience but I'll try what you have suggested. Having said this, it doesn't sound like rev matching at all, but more like some kind of nanny for those that can't up-shift at a normal rate. Why on earth would I want to slow down my shifting? ?‍♂️
What do you mean? I find it works flawlessly on downshifts.
Umm.. I've seen this mentioned a few times and I'm not sure if my car is just odd or my driving style doesn't allow for it, but I'm pretty sure rev matching only ever works when downshifting, ie: going from 3rd down to 2nd. To test...
It's a weird grey - I call it anime grey because it looks a bit out of this world. Also, the photos have been edited to make the yellow look right, so the grey is a little off. And, sitting next to the Zandvoort Blue, Brooklyn Grey looks quite different again!
There is absolutely no need to do this on every shift. My Type R clutch has done 220,000kms and I manually rev match/blip the throttle only when I'm giving it the beans and having some fun.
Also worth mentioning is that before I bought the Supra I thought I would turn the auto rev matching...
This. Anyone who hasn't experienced it hasn't had the windows down at speed. Luckily it's an easy fix.. and there's no need to spend hundreds of dollars either.
Agreed. The stereo isn't great but it's also no where near as bad as some people make out. The Tada port mod is worth doing for some...
Even just looking at other steering wheels probably brakes the ADR.
I don't think there is any reasonable way to stay completely legal here with any modification worth doing. I guess it's more about picking your poison and accepting the risks. And besides, with regards to steering wheels, apart...
So I took out my JB+ as I was taking my car in for a service and boy does it make a difference. I only drove it for a few days this way but I seriously couldn't deal with the difference. I guess once you get used to the extra kick, you just can't go back. What a great little mod. Love it.
Is everyone running at 32/32psi?
I got my car back from a service and the car felt really bouncy bashing some B roads. I checked my tyre pressures afterwards as I assumed the grease monkeys just over filled the tyres but it was bang on 32 all round.
Maybe I had been running a lower pressure...
Because through critical discourse, we improve. Not sure why everyone craves sycophants and exclusively positive reinforcement. It's just an opinion.. my opinion. Don't want to see my opinion, block me. I don't care. Your loss. ?‍♂️
Woah! Who said I'm grown. ?
