Not sure why you don't hear surging... maybe boost is too low to hear it? Everyone I've talked to says these cars don't need a BOV however nobody has given a good reason why. The simple fact is BOV's are benefiting the turbo and not the car so you should in fact need one if you want your turbo...

There are plenty of drain holes for water and debris should be minimal since mesh..
Water will not hurt the hood since it is made from aluminum and will not rust.
That's kind of my point.. If you're looking to heavily modify this car (ie. transmission swap) you'd be better off removing the BMW ecosystem entirely. At the very least I would look into a full standalone setup via Motec. Or better yet find a cheap car with a manual transmission to fill the...
I think you would just need to have the ECU stuff turned off?
Personally I'd do a 2J swap and put whatever transmission you'd like. You'd also benefit from not needing to worry about keeping BMW's ECU happy.
Installing DocRace Kit. Currently modifying and repainting the charge pipes that will use VanJen clamps in lieu of crappy silicone couplers the kit came with.. also installing proper BOV since DR does not include a solution to removing the built-in BOV.
Lastly, I'm replacing their drain line...
What kind of power are you planning on? People are making over 1,000whp with no issue.. You'll for sure blow the transmission long before you hurt the torque converter.
There are places that stock Pure700/800/850's.. you typically pay an additional core charge until you return your stock turbo. I would suggest pure800 since it would leave plenty of room for improvement.
Vargas turbos have been on preorder since mid-last year so you'll be waiting awhile for one...
There's plenty of info out there on Vargas. I strongly suggest you research before making a decision. If you're wanting true plug-n-play, either go Pure or AMS.
Huh.. yeah, that makes total sense. I have a fab/weld shop so I'll be able to modify mine when it comes in. Do you know someone that can cut off and weld new tabs onto the bars?
Could be a better product.. but at the end of the day it's the same guy who has a reputation for not standing behind his own Chinese sourced product.
Like I said, some of the items I've picked up haven't had any issues with but the guy's shady business practices is enough to keep me from going...
Avoid this place like the plague.. Just spoke with someone else having similar issues as mine and really wish I'd done my research on the guy before doing business. This "Tony Turbo" guy has quite the rap sheet.
