I'm not trying to be difficult, but the statement above is self-contradictory. How can you state you "would not have the ability to drive it regardless" if you've "never attempted" to put it in drive, etc.
This is key, key point. The very act of putting it into drive may allow it to drive off...
Congratulations! Sounds like a ideal car for you! Enjoy every minute of it. It's not all young kids around here; some of us are retired and enjoying the heck out of these.
This is 100% normal. The left-side exhaust contains a solenoid-activated flap, and the left-side exhaust only opens in certain conditions (sport mode). Normal startup will only have exhaust emission from the right-side tailpipe.
This seems to happen when people rev the engine when not under load. The lesson I'm learning from reading this thread is, don't rev the engine when not under load.
Now that's a smart idea, indeed. Use the jump points in the engine bay to repower the trunk latch. Well done.
No need to restart the engine or anything else if all you want is access to the battery in the trunk. Just attaching cables to the jump terminals should be sufficient to power up the...
Open car with key contained within fob. Keyhole is behind the oval cover on the handle, which can be pushed out by reaching inside the handle. Once inside, crawl into back compartment and pull emergency release. Good luck if you have the rear cargo cover in place, that's going to be a very...
Lot’s of red flags in this post. New user. Doesn’t know that a cold car might have condensation in the exhaust prior to warmup. “Literally have never disliked a car more than this car”. WTH?? And thinks you can “return” it? Also WTH???
I've got the same wheel/style, except mine has smooth leather. I highly recommend this design. Looks and feels absolutely fantastic. Bonus: I purchased this from a fellow member right here on the classifieds on SupraMkV.com. :)
I'd like to know this as well. Personally, I don't get everybody putting huge rims on cars with tires the height of lasagna. Kills the ride, and they're a nightmare from a flat/damage standpoint. I'll take 18" anyday, including on the Supra.
It's ok. I've had a number of long-hooded, low profile cars. My current 440i Gran Coupe is in this category. About the only place I've ever gotten paint chips is in that first 30-50cm. The PPF on the A90 is well positioned to avoid this.
I also replaced my stock wheel with a unit similar (identical, actually) to many of those shown here. HUGE difference. I like a thicker rim, and these deliver. Changes the whole character of the interior as well, just fits the car perfectly, especially with carbon that matches the center...
That's a good find. It will disable the alarm if the temp is below 37F when you start the car. Unfortunately, it doesn't disable the alarm if the temp falls below 37F while driving. Which, for those of us that garage cars, is the only condition we see and which will always trigger the alarm...
Off-center wheels are fairly common. It's not a bad alignment that causes this, its just a reality with many alignment technicians. Some take extra care with things like water-levels to get the wheel perfect, but that's not the usual procedure. With many styles of steering wheel, you can't...
The 1,000 HP MkV completely stripped the stock ECU, tore out all the wiring and sensors, and replaced this with a race-specific engine management system.
That car only shares the block, head, and crank with a stock Supra. Basically everything else was replaced with custom race-designed parts.
