Yah, cold start is crazy loud. So loud that I had to disable it :D

Someone I know has an M240i (same motor) with decatted downpipe running on BM3 tune (aggressive burble) and I find it annoyingly loud. I believe he's still running stock muffler, too.

Not at all. It's pretty quiet in the cabin during normal driving conditions, and it screams like a beast when you hit the accelerator. The best thing about doing this mod is you can always go back to stock muffler if you don't like the sounds of it.
