If it didn't do anything it wouldn't have been installed on the car in the first place. If it's there, it has a purpose, and it's bigger than what you can see, with arms that extend out and rearwards, obscured by the plastic covers.

The steering has been recalibrated twice now (MY2021 & MY2023), and yeah, the 2020's rear suspension tuning left a lot to be desired, often bucking you out of the seat on bigger bumps.
Totally normal for these cars, won't cause any damage, and try doing some quick swerves like this to flex the wheels & rotors a bit and see if it doesn't just fall out on its own.

Yup, same here. The left side is easy because the spring you push on only has one latch to disengage, whereas the right side has to unlock two with a single input point, and my flathead kept slipping between the spring coils on that side. Very frustrating, but it eventually came off quick once...
