Threw on the AMS anti buffeting kit - works like a charm! Having owned 2 convertibles in the past, I never really found the buffeting as untenable as some others, but this makes a huge difference for sure. Plus, it looks great!
Picked mine up yesterday! Years of white and silver and grey sports cars, finally decided to go all out on yellow ?
Planning a real photoshoot later, so included is a pic of my old M3 from my last shoot with it.
Hahah the drive home was enough... my M3 left me via a no-longer-single-piece main bearing :P Got 155k good ones out of her though, so I can't be too sad. Been waiting for the Supra since I ordered in July of 2021 (family member employee order, so they sent me right to the back), so it's been a...
Alas, for these types of orders Toyota has to send paperwork directly to us, which they then send to the dealer to release the car after we sign. Dealer has had my car since Wednesday AM, Toyota corporate is AWOL on this one and hasn't responded to emails yet. Dealership is in town and I drive...
Whiteline is good for sure but agree re: weight. I ran their bars on my FRS with the stiffness pretty high for the track - great product and stiffness was second to none - totally changed the handling characteristics and I was able to put it right where I wanted it, extremely predictable...
Finally on the truck to the dealership, should have it tomorrow or Thursday. Been waiting since July 15 when my M3's S65 kicked the bucket... a hell of walking and driving my fiancee's hybrid SUV every day... after a decade straight of sports cars of one kind or another.
So close to deliverance...
I assume everyone saying how crazy and unacceptable this is has never owned a BMW.... my M3 did this from day one through the next 150k miles. Depending on how hard I drove, 1k to 1.5k per quart. I just kept a bag with a few quarts in the trunk, got pretty used to starting the car, getting the...
Hah! I almost bought a different car twice because 6 months having to drive my wife's hybrid was killing me inside. M3 kicked the bucket in June and I've been spiritually suffering. Almost bought an LC500 and an M2CS, had financing approvals on both and almost signed for the LC500 before I...
+1. The only way to "order" from Toyota is through the employee benefit program, which is actually a direct factory order, but it's placed through Toyota itself and not a dealership. Otherwise, you are just pulling one from the manufacturing stream that's already allocated but not sold...
Correct, but I assume the logistical stuff does cost them a bit of resources. In any case, Austria was hit pretty hard by COVID for materials/labor, so that probably factored in. I know Toyota is in the news for being basically at full capacity for production, but I'm guessing that only applies...
Direct order from Toyota, through the benefit program. Toyota told me directly via email that their production time for Supras is roughly 6 months from allocation to delivery. Upside is I can get exactly what I wanted at a hefty discount, downside is the wait. It may speed up post-COVID issues...
My Supra ordered 7/15 is in processing at a processing center stateside as of yesterday, dealer says it should be ready this month. Tracks with Toyota corporate's 6 month estimate on production to delivery.
Does this dude just crash his car into a divider on the way to turning in his lease every 2 years and just get a new car?
"Drive all the way back to the dealership? What a waste of time." *skrrrrrrrt* *bang*
Dude must have a car body count higher than the Fast and Furious movies.
I'm 29, my '22 Supra is currently on the slow boat from Austria but my car progression starting at 16 was my grandma's 2003 Camry LE (family friend is still driving that thing, 350k and counting), FRS, E46 325xi wagon, and then an E92 M3 which I bought at 25. I'm in the Bay where there's a lot...
You may have a different pipeline if you order not direct from Toyota, but Toyota (not a dealer) told me it's been pretty consistently 6 months for orders (particularly direct orders). Mine took about 4.5 months to be built, now begins the waiting game for the boat, train, and truck
This, my last car was a 2008 E9X M3 and almost no one had any idea what it was unless they were a car person. I actually had more than one friend say "oh I have a 3 series too, great cars" which always made me grit my teeth and my wife smirk at me. Surprisingly quiet stock exhaust, the engine...
Actually just got info from Toyota corporate, production schedule has it set for arrival in the US a few days after Christmas. Don't think there's a pause in production, since production date is listed internally as 11/17 (actual, not estimated)
No way to know, but I wouldn't be surprised. The programs have been tweaked every which way during covid. The program letting you buy off lots was unsurprisingly suspended (and still is) due to the difficulty in allocating replacements with the current supply chain issues. I tried seeing if any...
