  1. Lowered car through car wash

Side note: If I owned a car wash, I'd have a sign made that depicts the front side view of a vehicle with a minimum height warning. It would be prominently posted at the front of the wash and where payment is accepted. This would help prevent liability issues.
  2. 🤔 For drivers in crowded cities: What almost went wrong?

It seems as if many are young and inexperienced drivers. I recall being on a "Mountain Run" with quite a few sportscars, outside the city. One owner decided it was okay to let his 17 year-old son drive. He subsequently drifted into the oncoming lane and sideswiped a car. The teenager then...
  3. 🤔 For drivers in crowded cities: What almost went wrong?

Sadly, many accidents in and near big cities are due to a lack of driver attention. We recently were slammed in the rear by a 19 year-old girl who wasn't paying attention. She pushed us into the vehicle in front of us. The result: $28,000 in damage, just to our car. Years earlier, another young...

  8. PLEASE HELP!!!Car running lean after installing downpipe

That may be the reason. Also: Inspect the turbo to downpipe connection for soot marks. Replace the old gasket and torque bolts to spec. Check the O2 sensor wiring (no pinching) and connectors.
  9. Alarm problem

    Nice!
  10. Alarm problem

It should be, as long as your car is not over 3 years old. That's the warranty length we have here in the US.
  11. Windshield laminate layer "glitter" when facing the sun

That was my initial thought. I probably would ceramic coat it if that was all I had to do, but in addition to all the body parts, every window was splattered. I'm not that far away from being 70, so an all-day task might not be easy.
  12. Windshield laminate layer "glitter" when facing the sun

Update: The "glitter" is not the intermediary layer's defect, nor is it fine sand pits. It is some kind of overspray that covers the entire car. I can't remember parking near any painting/coating operations, nor can I pinpoint the first time I noticed it. So within a couple of weeks, I will...
  13. GR Supra. Did it live up to the hype?

You can always rent one every now and then. That's what I did to avoid having a giant car payment.
  14. GR Supra. Did it live up to the hype?

I've driven many sportscars over the last 6 years, most being much more expensive than my Supra. Yet this one seems to get even more attention than the McLaren 570S I rented. The Supra gets FAR more attention than the 911 4S and the 2022 C8. Maybe this is because the average annual build for GR...
  15. Alarm problem

I've seen mention that the Supra's alarm ECU can enter "safe mode" after repeated triggers or power interruptions. This may require a dealer-level scan tool to reset. If there is a Security or Alarm fuse in the fuse box, pull it out for a few minutes and reinsert. Also, I think that when you...
  16. Exhaust Reccomendations with Stock Downpipe

Here's a few more details in this video:
  17. Exhaust Reccomendations with Stock Downpipe

Nice! My car has the ZF 8 auto, and I'm not sure if the CA referee station puts the drive wheels on rollers to test exhaust sound levels. I recorded sound levels while in neutral.
  18. Exhaust Reccomendations with Stock Downpipe

I didn't know that the valve opens in Normal mode. Thanks for that. It could be that my valve opened before that engine speed.
  19. Key won’t detect after changing the battery

I've never had to check mine, but based upon some research, you should check fuses: F4 (MINI 5A) F5/F6 (MINI 20A) in the interior fuse box (passenger side) The diagram may be on/in the fuse box cover.
  20. Key won’t detect after changing the battery

One of my key fob batteries just died, (after 2 years) so I replaced both fob batteries - no problems. In your case, the fob itself is suspect. Another thought: Is there a keyless entry system fuse?
