  1. 2020/2021 Plastic Oil Pump

As far as I know the oil pump has a failsafe mode in which it gives you very high oil pressure. In my case, when it failed I was seeing abnormally high oil pressure, for example up to 115PSI on WOT or partial throttle. The car would also throw a code for this as a result.
  2. 2020/2021 Plastic Oil Pump

Nah they basically just told me we can't do warranty work for something that hasn't failed yet, I gave them receipts of others that have had the problem with unable to read at 18% and other cases, but still the same answer. I just want to get this over with if it ever happens. Even if its only...
  3. 2020/2021 Plastic Oil Pump

...are coming up on the end of our warranties? I'm only trying to get a general consensus since it's a bipolar issue - "replace the plastic oil pump asap before it fails!" and "it's fine, don't worry about it" I don't remember the fail to measure posts back then, but I do remember the 21's...
  4. 2020/2021 Plastic Oil Pump

So, you just say hey, I think there’s like this really really really small chance my oil pump may fail how about you all replace it just in case? Did they think it was a joke?
  5. 2020/2021 Plastic Oil Pump

i have warranty waiting and on the ready if my oil pump does fail.. Tried asking if we can do a precautionary warranty work but they wouldn't budge and states only when it fails it will be warrantied.
  6. 2020/2021 Plastic Oil Pump

Mine fails to mesure oil from time to time, but i have regular oil pressure on idle 40 psi and WOT around 80 psi. Doesn't throw any codes, so I'm keeping it for now until I see it act up then ill probably switch to a metal pump.
  7. 2020/2021 Plastic Oil Pump

There appears to be a growing concern for those of us with 2020/2021 owners who have the OEM plastic oil pump. While some have had this replaced by Toyota under warranty ONLY after it has failed, some are replacing them with the all-metal revised unit as a precautionary measure to avoid...
  8. What did you do to your Supra today?

Car acting funny/low-power, CEL, and oil pump codes. 2021 M.Y. strikes again!
  9. Verus oil-to-air oil cooler

you could run two oem pumps. They’re quite good. Several aftermarket options too but the oem pumps really flow a lot.
  10. Any cause for concern?

Ok cool, thanks for the info.
  11. Any cause for concern?

Many of the videos of people pulling their old oil pumps apart shows that no internals were broken and all appears to be functioning as it should, I think maybe one person who had their oil pump replaced had an oil pressure warning with a check engine light. There was another thread (can't...
  12. Any cause for concern?

Ahhh... ok, so the system dynamically adjusts the pressure all the time and it wasn't anymore, because of the failure, basically defaulting to a high pressure state. Ok makes me feel better. Thanks for the explanation.
  13. Any cause for concern?

AFAIK, the pump is designed to fail to high pressure. The system is PID controlled. Which, btw makes it a joy (in a good way) in tuning. I think that "Found that adjust max oil pressure test fails" means the PID system was no longer effective in dynamic pressure changes because of the failed...
  14. Any cause for concern?

I just went thru the oil pump issue with my 2020, there's a thread on that, but wanted to start a new one and get some feedback on what the dealer wrote on the paper work. I have no idea when the oil pump issue started. When I pulled the car out of winter storage about 3 days later I get a low...
  15. How do you get the Oil Level Check to work

And final update..... Got my car back today, all fixed up with the new oil pump. Two weeks and 2 days total. All done under warranty. Work done by the dealers BMW shop. I did the oil level check when I got home from work, about 45 minute drive, worked perfect. I was worried about maybe losing...
  16. Updated oil pump?

  19. Lug nuts or lug bolts

Ya I'm going to just use the OEM lug bolts. Soon as I get my car back I'll make an appointment to get the wheels installed. Still waiting for the oil pump to be replaced, it's been 2 weeks now.
  20. Lug nuts or lug bolts

Let us see how it turned out. Depending on your next wheel purchase, you can get the correct offset to RID of any wheel spacers. you don't need those.
