    This is typically indicative of the oil pump failing unfortunately. B58's have plastic internals that fail in the oil pump which cause issues with the oil level measuring. It's expected to become a recall to the few at BMW that I've talked to about this.

    This was pretty hard to read, but yes. Swapping and engine or engine R&R is much MUCH easier than rebuilding an engine. You just take the old one you and put the new one in. There's nothing to it. Rebuilding an engine, yeah, that's hard.

    They replaced mine because I couldn’t measure oil level properly. The sensor was also broken, so I had extensive work done just to get that working again. Then still was burning 2quarts every 1000miles. Eventually they opted to replace the entire long block. Glad I sold it.
