  1. Caster out of spec?

I understand it's out of spec, I thought I had mentioned in my OP that the tech said its "not out of spec" when its showing that it is indeed out of spec. Fixed that in my post.
  2. Caster out of spec?

One of the areas that I'm not familiar on is alignment and suspension geometry. Probably my weakest link. Can someone take a look at this and explain to me why the caster would be out of spec on a stock car? Granted I know the factory specs are 7.58 +/- .5 degrees. Tech said the caster on...
  3. 2025 6MT - numerous bimmerlink errors. Am I making a $63,000 mistake?

Mostly logging what happened afterwards in case someone after me has the same problem, but I agree. If there's nothing stored in permanent memory or no CEL, then its likely nothing to worry about.
  4. 2025 6MT - numerous bimmerlink errors. Am I making a $63,000 mistake?

I checked the error memory a few days later and all of the codes had went away but one (headunit related.) The info memory still had a ton of events logged, but I've compared this with another supra and it was virtually the same, so at this point my best guess is that I'd treat info memory in...
  5. Catted Downpipe Smell?

I imagine if its conforming to Euro6 then there's probably little to no smell at all. As technology has advanced with cats, they are likely less and less of a restriction that they used to be. A high end cat will solve most issues if I had to guess.
  6. Catted Downpipe Smell?

The issue with catted downpipes is it becomes a pretty grey area due to the quality of the cat itself. Any car running an aftermarket catted downpipe has the ability to smell. That being said, all cats are also not created equal either. Generally a higher cell count will clean the exhaust up...
  7. Not so hot take

Good choice. I looked at a few stratosphere blues and the color is so nice; never was able to get to one in time, though. I ended up with another Nocturnal. But honestly I think the seats really make it for me. Granted I tend to notice odd things about cars, but for me the alcantara seats tip...
  8. For manuals; is it better to do burnouts in 1st or 2nd gear at the drag strip?

Well put. I figured under the generalization, if OP was asking about what gear to do burnouts in, the best likely answer for them would be "none, just enjoy your runs." Worrying about what temp to keep tires at if you aren't sure what gear to do them in (no offense to OP, saying this from an...
  9. For manuals; is it better to do burnouts in 1st or 2nd gear at the drag strip?

That's because I didn't say that. The inability for you to comprehend the position of my point isn't my shortcoming here, it's yours. I didn't doubt that you made the times you said, even though you have still yet to really provide the conditions upon which you made them. I guess that's on...
  10. For manuals; is it better to do burnouts in 1st or 2nd gear at the drag strip?

You likely did make better times with later attempts; My point is I don't think one can say with a high level of certainty that a burnout on oem tires is largely contributing to that. I'd be very skeptical claiming a delta of almost a whole second due to a burnout on street tires. I'm not...
  11. For manuals; is it better to do burnouts in 1st or 2nd gear at the drag strip?

My post was under the guise of if the OP was asking the question the way they phrased it, they would likely be on the OEM Super sports which are going to behave quite differently than a set of purpose bought 200TW's. I personally still wouldn't do a burnout on a 200TW tire myself. Drag slicks...
  12. For manuals; is it better to do burnouts in 1st or 2nd gear at the drag strip?

I believe that you may have gotten a lower time, but I doubt that the burnout contributed to it in a meaningful way. Street tires are meant to operate over a wide range of temps and overheating them can actually cause less grip, that's just how they are designed. Is it possible you cleaned the...
  13. Not so hot take

Damn, really? TiL. I figured as far as 3.0's went it was 3.0 Alcantara and the 3.0 Premiums with full leather. Honestly at this point I'm glad I went with the 3.0. Typically I just try and get my cars as fully loaded as possible unless I run into an issue like the top trim not offering a manual...
  14. For manuals; is it better to do burnouts in 1st or 2nd gear at the drag strip?

Based on how you phrased the question I'm going to assume you might not be familiar with why those are done at a dragstrip (that's not meant to be insulting, just how it sounded to me.) Unless you are on dedicated drag tires you are wasting both your time and your tread doing a burnout...
  15. Just saw this on YouTube.

While I have a 6MT, I agree this is largely just youtube click trash. Someone on here needs to just turn back the wheel of time and start putting out actual content instead of clout. I'm at the point where if I hear "whats up youtube" I basically stop watching immediately.
  16. 2025 6MT - numerous bimmerlink errors. Am I making a $63,000 mistake?

Thats what I just find odd. The car has a clean carfax and autocheck, yet its been through two battery replacements. One was under the customer, the other was covered internally by toyota when it was in dealer inventory. The car doesn't have any sort of abnormal behavior but that is just so...
  17. DSC/VSC issues?

I would say its about as repeatable as it can get, happens every time. I've tried a few on/off ramps and its consistent whether its a left or right curved on ramp. The car is nowhere near losing traction or anywhere near its limits but the VSC will activate regardless.
  18. DSC/VSC issues?

I mentioned the whole car was stock, but I guess I should have been more clear, the tires are factory sizes. I'll get to measuring tomorrow for sure. Center of the wheel as in the center cap?
  19. DSC/VSC issues?

The fronts are the factory pilot super sports. Rears are what the past toyota dealer put on, Firestone Firehawk Indy 500's. Which based on what I can see on tire rack, isn't a garbage tire, but I'd certainly have matched all four with a better but same brand if it were me. tread depth between...
  20. 2025 6MT - numerous bimmerlink errors. Am I making a $63,000 mistake?

Well, given that it had a battery replaced I wouldn't be surprised. I honestly won't feel bad about it if its just a symptom of maybe being stored at the dealer for awhile and a battery replacement, because I can't find any fault codes, there's no other warning lights on, and the car drives...
