I ordered a Ortiz a-pillar gaugle pod and looking to isntall it today. Is there any tricks to removing the factory piece or does it just pop off? I've searched and havent found anything useful. Nevermind, figured it out.

I looked in the owners manual, albeit probably not very thoroughly, and couldn't find anything on this. What is this compartment for inside the trunk? Is something supposed to be in there? If so, what?
