The ashiko was smooth shifting. Theres so much weight behind it, it almost makes the shifter feel somewhat akin to an arcade game's shifter. Its eliminates a lot of the "linkage" feel. For my replacement knob, i went with the traction as well. Feels a lot better.
Yup. Got it off. Needed a slide hammer. Destroyed the finish on the Ashiko shift knob. Complained to Raceseng. They sent me a new adapter and shift knob. New adapter didn't fit either. Neither did the one that one of my club members ordered. Had to bore it out with a drill press and a 9/16 bit...
Ok. Long story short. The thing only goes down half way and gets stuck. I tried screwing on the knob and twisting it off. I tried tapping it with a hammer, I tried yanking it. I tried twisting it with pliers (don't do that... It warps the threads and damages the anodized aluminum finish.
