  1. Error code 130716 Vanos, exhaust: control error, camshaft is stuck

If you log VANOS EX target and actual values and drive around at low boost conditions, you can verify that VANOS is working correctly and not a mechanical issue. If the issue is only VANOS Exhaust side, it's extremely likely it's not a mechanical VANOS issue but is related to fuel pump/pressure...

Can ride height sensor data be logged?
  3. Error code 130716 Vanos, exhaust: control error, camshaft is stuck

I've resolved this issue on my setup and believe I found root cause. The latest theory behind the exhaust cam VANOS deviation is that the increased fuel rail pressure adds additional load on the exhaust cam due to the cam-driven high-pressure fuel pump working harder to create that pressure...
  4. Error code 130716 Vanos, exhaust: control error, camshaft is stuck

I'm running stock HPFP, replaced cam position sensor and central valve, and swapped solenoids. Still have the issue.
  5. Error code 130716 Vanos, exhaust: control error, camshaft is stuck

Interesting data point. If going back to a stock tune (no mechanical changes) resolved the issue, it seems to indicate that the issue is either tune related or a result of running more power (oil temp, boost pressure, etc). From a mechanical standpoint, a tune (assuming no changes to VANOS...
  6. Error code 130716 Vanos, exhaust: control error, camshaft is stuck

I'm seeing significant cam position variation with oil temp at 230 F. I'm not suggesting 230 F is triggering this issue, just noting reasonable oil temps when this is observed.
  7. Error code 130716 Vanos, exhaust: control error, camshaft is stuck

Some additional data (before I replaced the central valves). Note some of this info including videos and data screen shots can be found here: https://sectoronedesign.wordpress.com/2023/08/02/speed-summit-global-time-attack-ridge-motorsports-park-july-2023/ When this first happened... On the...
  8. Error code 130716 Vanos, exhaust: control error, camshaft is stuck

Resurrecting this thread. I had the same issue on track. I'm using EcuTek. Very repeatable on track. I swapped vanos solenoids and problem was still on exhaust cam. I then replaced both central valves and exhaust cam position sensor. Still going into limp mode and throwing the same DTC...
