So,
Different bore and stroker, the S58 has 4mm less stroke and 2mm more bore.
Dropped compression ratio to 9.3:1 from 11:1
Non-integrated twin turbo setup
We need to know what will be the fuel cap on OEM HPFP, probably around 600whp with meth (on S55 you can get almost up to 750whp with race gas and meth). The easiest upgrade would be get a PI kit and let JB4 handle DI+PI injection. I am confident though down the line XDI will make a HPFP upgrade...
it's a combination of both IMO. The drivetrain losses are much less than what it used to be. And who knows what is going on with the new electronics. One thing we learned from VW scandal is cars "KNOW" that they are dynos and behave differently. The acceleration numbers though suggest higher...
Yeah that sounds about right. No doubt there will be some guys that will bolt a big turbo and start push the limit just to get the 4 digit number, but the proper way is after let's say HeadGames or VAC Motorsports start looking into those heads. N54 has 84mm bore and it has the tiniest intake...
Yeah i think they need to collaborate with euro tuners. Current reading/writing tools are provided by Dimsport, Autotuner and Magic Motorsports. Tuners rely on these guys tool to adjust their tunes. Ecutek which you might be familiar with also use their own tool and their own tuning program and...
I have 3. One built for the E46, 2 spares. Bought the pistons first (std size) then went on to buy the suitable block that doesn’t require oversizing. [insert face palm here] 1st and 2nd engines were terrible, 3rd miracly had the cleanest cylinder walls of any used engine i had ever seen.
Actually i think it will be later than anyone thinks. These guys are not familiar with how things are with BMW engines. They are used to 2JZ, or VR38 and other hugely supported platforms. I will agree that B58 will make 400whp easier than anyone think. I can argue that it will be even the...
Rods and pistons don't make 1000hp. lol
You guys make it sound like BMW use some crappy material and Toyota's piston create additional kinetic energy.
The reason we haven't seen 1000hp I6 new BMW's are not internal strength. It's a combination of air flow and tuning. We are still using OEM...
Yeah clearly the Z4 looks better lol
I'm probably one of the few people in the world who likes the shape of the Z4 Coupe. Such a quirky yet classic shape.
You guys sure love to throw iron block and Yamaha into your wet dreams, don't you? lol Not trying to be an asshole, but i don't find those assumption to be true; a new block and head for just the top tier sports car for a niche model? And i sure as hell don't think any Supra will be close to GT3...
These transmissions are not the best shifting transmissions but they are very strong. It's quite popular in Europe drift scene to bolt 2JZ/LS engines to the diesel ZF manual trans. I have a turbo 325i E30 and i bolted the GS6 to it and it's even on stock clutch at around 500whp. The N54 guys...
I highly doubt it's gonna use something other than Bosch Tricore BMW use on other B58 engines. Realoem shows the same part number as X5.
All Bosch DME's are already tuneable and the files are out there with the tuners.
