The only way to use Google Maps is to install the Screen Mirroring addon. This addon requires that the screen stays on, and there is no way to receive touch inputs from the car and control an app, so I don't find it very useful.

To be clear, this isn't Android Auto, this just provides the high-level functions of Android Auto. The car API doesn't send touch screen events, unfortunately it only sends button press events.

AAIdrive is able to load the Detailed Vehicle Info and show it in AAIdrive's phone interface (or the CDS Details addon), but it won't be able to show the information into the car screen without coding and using the new version.
