Well Toyota called me, and they cannot find anything wrong with the car (so far). They’ve dug into the codes, looked at the sensors and hoses and all looks good. They think it may have been some kinda fluke.
Their Supra tech is gonna drive the car to attempt to replicate the CEL, but failing...
Hey everyone. Kinda tearing my hair out thinking about the car but something happened as I was driving it through Berkeley this afternoon.
As I was going down a steep incline, the CEL came on and I drove it to a local shop who pulled this code and another one for the dash heater control sensor...
Just hit 10k miles on the Supra a couple of days ago, and I’m planning on doing a brake fluid flush to racing brake fluid to track prep her for Sonoma. ?
The next step is purchasing a good race helmet. Tires are good for a couple of sessions and I’ll swap them to a new set regardless.
Brakes...
Not to double reply, but just FYI there’s a thread on the corvette forums that states all extended warranties are going to increase their prices by 30% due to the tariff crap…
In the Corvette General forum there’s a guy asking for lemon law info as of the 9th cause his car has sat for over 30...
Yeah man, all I can say is know Cali’s lemon law backward and forward in case you need it. On new cars it’s 18 months and 18k miles from date of purchase, and if your car has been in for the same issue 4 times or sat in a shop for over 30 days it’s an automatic lemon.
the scumbags at Fremont...
Naw man it’s all good! Trust me I tried to love the C8. But I’ll be real, after the first car? Driving the second gave me so much anxiety cause it was always always in the back of my mind it was gonna happen again. And it did.
These stupid cars are like 90-170k depending on if it’s a Z51, a...
I have not. I’m still waiting on a total of 11k to get back to me. Last text I told the finance guy Justin I hadn’t gotten shit yet and he’d “get me a tracking number” ?. I’m not gonna tell you what to do, but that 24 Z06 is a ticking time bomb.
Harkeem at Fremont Chevy is the main service guy...
Hey everyone! Gosh where to begin? Apologies if my previous posts were a tad negative. The whole situation with the C8 faded from memory 2 weekends ago as I was invited as part of the Nor Cal Supra group to attend the GT World Cup Challenge at Sonoma Raceway.
Man, if there is anything I’m...
Sorry for the late update it's been a fun one. Well lets see. The Supra is finally fixed. It took 2-3 weeks of the car sitting at Dublin Toyota, but they finally got it dialed in. They replaced two EVAP purge valves which fixed the CEL. Had to wait on parts from Kentucky.
On the 14th...
The Master Tech at Dublin Toyota gave me a call today and it looks like we'll be able to get that EVAP leak looked at first thing tomorrow. Once that is all sorted and my buyback completed next week, I can send the deposit for parts on my build to the tuner.
No shit. Still consulting with a lawyer, this has been going on for 4 months and I'll be damned if someone scams me let alone a scumbag dealership. Be careful out there guys, I wouldn't wish this car stress on anyone.
At least I have a wonderful Supra to drive and enjoy though. Very thankful...
Yeah, I left a strong voicemail with my repurchase coordinator and they basically said “our bad we screwed up the numbers” call you on Monday…. So yeah they gotta fix this.
Well a bid of sad news. I figured out why the service contract was wonky. Fremont Chevrolet scammed me out of my down payment and instead of buying back the first lemon C8 and cutting me a check then applying the full down, they traded it in against the other C8 and stiffed me out of 25k. They...
This one photo right here just proved to myself I made the right choice. You are my HERO! Only 194,300 miles to go till I catch up. I got a lot of night drives to do : )
