Ask for the manager (or anyone higher than the spokesperson just standing next to the car) of the Toyota display and explain your situation to him/her - that you traveled all the way from Germany just to see and sit in the car because you will be ordering it.
If you request nicely they may open...
I would be really surprised if the Z5 coupe differs that much from the convertible. Look at where the roofline falls on the vert. Way more fastback than the coupe. There's no way there will be any structural changes to the pillars etc.
Supra93 posted this comparison.
Unless of course the...
"We do know that both companies announced they would be splitting development duties into four sections: joint sports car development, fuel-cell technology, electrification technology and weight-saving technology."
I must have missed this announcement before. Did they mention which company is...
This could all be true but most people will overlook the details and call it a BMW engine, like they just stuck a M4 engine in the Supra and called it a day. And who knows, maybe they did but I'll wait for all the details before passing judgment.
It doesn't really matter since most anyone outside of enthusiasts following this stuff closely will know that the two cars are related in any way. Most of my non-car friends couldn't tell you the FR-S has a "twin"
They are building the Mirai at the old LFA plant.

Seems like the perfect set up for the Supra to be built there also...
You can't expect all that time, money and effort on the concept and not expect them to get all they can out of it. The graphite one only came out in summer. I'm sure now that feasibility study is done, I'm sure something is cooking behind closed doors.
Yea I looked at the wrong weights. The corvette's front seats weigh 60 pounds each. It looks like a rear seat delete for the Mustang takes out up to 50 pounds depending on model year. That's just the actual seat though, no doubt the structure would be redesigned if it were made as a 2 seater.
Feasibility study done and onto the concept stage. It's about as close to a green light for production as we have right now. As this was just announced I would not expect a "real" concept anytime soon.

The C7 is actually similar size as the MKIV Supra.
C7:
Wheelbase 106.7 in (2,710 mm)
Length 176.9 in (4,493 mm)
Width 73.9 in (1,877 mm)
Height 48.6 in (1,234 mm)
Curb weight 1,496 kg (3,298 lb)
Now if they can shrink it down to be smaller I think it could be as light as the C7, but lighter...
If they let you drive a gt350 it might be more enticing but that is way too expensive for what is being offered. I imagine some candy ass hand holding the whole time.
Just playing devil's advocate b/c I definitely want it to be called Supra too but let's face it there's lots more expectations for what this car should be if they stick to that name. Even on this forum the debate: "A Supra needs to have ___" or "A Supra should not have ____"
If they choose...
