I'm not talking about the people standing next to the cars. Was referring to real officials like: Jim Lentz, Doug Murtha, Jack Hollis, Kevin Hunter, and etc. They sometime make appearances at auto shows and answers questions from the press.

The concept is still beautiful but it's made the rounds for a while now. I bet enthusiasm is weaning a bit, bet there's not many people hounding the reps for answers.

You can't expect all that time, money and effort on the concept and not expect them to get all they can out of it. The graphite one only came out in summer. I'm sure now that feasibility study is done, I'm sure something is cooking behind closed doors.

maybe we will see something new at Tokyo 2015, and or at Detroit 2016?

they could do what they did with the RC.

base model RC200t and RC350 at Tokyo. while showing the flagship RCF at Detroit.

Is anyone here actually going? I thought about it. LA, NY, or Detroit is one thing; but Tokyo looks too expensive. :(

Well the airfares, I believe, is like $500 these days, and you can stay at an Airbnb over there. The dollar/yen exchange rate is quite advantageous to us, too.

2017 Tokyo motor show: What to expect

The 2017 Tokyo motor show is almost upon us, with Japan’s big show having slumbered since this time two years ago.

The 2015 Tokyo motor show gave us the tiny Toyota S-FR concept, Nissan’s Leaf-previewing IDS show car, the Subaru Impreza concept (now in production) and Viziv Future concept, Daihatsu’s quirky Nori Ori and Tempo concepts, and a host of others. Browse our 2015 Tokyo motor show page for more.

What’s to come this year? No surprise, it’s an entirely Japan-brand affair so far!

Mazda looks set to tease us with yet another rotary sports concept that might never go to production, Honda will unveil a sporty electric coupe with retro flair, Lexus has top-secret plans and Mitsubishi will show what might be its long-anticipated (if not favourably) SUV-styled Evolution successor.

Catch our growing list below, and watch for updates in the weeks ahead as we close in on the late October opening day.

Production cars
Lexus LC F (not confirmed, reported)
Lexus RX seven-seater (not confirmed, reported)
Nissan Leaf (revealed)
Nissan Leaf Nismo (revealed)
Subaru WRX STI S208 (revealed)
Toyota ‘Supra’ (not confirmed, but spy photos suggest imminent debut)

Concepts

Honda Urban EV concept (revealed)
Lexus mystery concept (announced)
Mazda rotary sports concept (confirmed, not revealed)
Mitsubishi e-Volution concept (teased)
Nissan Juke EV – possibly new-gen preview (not confirmed, reported)
Nissan Z next-gen preview (not confirmed, reported)
Subaru Viziv sports concept (teased)
Suzuki concepts (revealed)
Suzuki Jimny (not confirmed, spied and leaked)
Toyota Crown concept (revealed)
Toyota Corolla successor, or Corolla hot hatch (not confirmed)
Toyota Supra concept (not confirmed, but could appear if production model doesn’t)

The 2017 Tokyo motor show will be held from October 27 (press day), and October 28 to November 5 (public days). The show is open from 10:00am to 8:00pm, Monday to Saturday, and 10:00am to 6:00pm on Holidays and Sundays.

CarAdvice will be on the ground at this year’s Tokyo motor show, so stay tuned for our extensive coverage as we bring you all the news, interviews and photos.
