I rang my local Toyota dealer again today (Steven Eagell Cambridge), and asked if they had a new Supra in yet. The salesman said that they wouldn't be selling the Supra (as it's a 'very prestige car'), the nearest dealership that will is Northampton (over an hour away).
Is there any list...
I can't think of any reason they would make it, but only for Europe. When BMW made an E60 M5 manual, that was only available in North America, and wasn't sold in Europe, so I don't know why Toyota would think to do the opposite.
I mean, they _should_ do a manual worldwide, obviously.
So it seems some lucky people have had their brand new Supras delivered. If you've had a chance to drive your car properly, I'd be really interested in driving impressions.
Specifically
- How's the gearbox? When you lift off the throttle at high revs, do you get engine braking, or does the...
This may be a slightly cynical view, but I'm imagining Toyota are looking at the number of enquiries and the length of the waiting list for deliveries next year, and thinking that the current 'buzz' and mark-ups will soon fade, and they're not going to achieve their sales targets next year. The...
Called my local Toyota dealer today, echoing others - they know nothing. Check back at the end of the month when the cars are likely to be at the dealers. Weird how Toyota UK seems to be keeping their own dealers in the dark.
In Japan, it's really common to have wind deflectors, semi-transparent strips of plastic that clip on and run down the leading and top edges of the front window opening. So I'd almost be surprised if there aren't already some such devices available in say Autobacs for the new Supra.
I won't be myself.
1) The stock cars are making ~370hp on the dyno, which is plenty. My ~330hp RX-7 is quick enough, I can't imagine feeling like the Supra needs more power. Yes, above about 100mph it'll make a difference, especially if you get up around 450hp as mentioned here...
Thanks for the heads-up about the Toyota website having the finance calculator on (wonder why Toyota didn't email me that information, but hey...).
As far as I can see on their website, the longest term is 42 months which is 3.5 years, rather than 4 years. So if it's Ā£740 x 42 compared to Ā£463...
Hi! Iām Tom, I was born obsessed with cars, and nothingās changed since. Obviously Need for Speed and Gran Turismo were like manna from heaven for teenage me, and my experience scouring the virtual used-car dealerships was put to good use when I arrived in Japan as a fresh graduate and...
