  1. Question About Ally Extended Warranty

You're welcome. It's a gamble. Sometimes it pays off and sometimes it doesn't. I've actually "won" on most of the extended warranties I've purchased. I spent $2,500 for a Volvo extended warranty and had about $7,500 of covered repairs, primarily AC related, which is not a luxury in Texas! Good...
  2. Question About Ally Extended Warranty

Yes. Pricing may differ for pre-owned and they may require you to take the vehicle to Toyota to get an inspection prior tonissuing the policy, but I have purchased manufacturer extended warranties on pre-owned vehicles before. I think as long as you are within the factory warranty, I think most...
  3. Question About Ally Extended Warranty

You’re going to get a lot of opinions on this one about whether they are necessary or not. Personally, I’ve purchased extended warranties on most of my recent vehicles because with all the new electronics, usually one warranty claim will cover the warranty cost and I personally prefer having a...
  4. Austin Supras?

@AustinGRSupra, thanks for the recommendation! Going south to Kyle is definitely better than heading into Austin.
  5. Austin Supras?

No issues with Cedar Park. They did fine for the 1st two (free) service appointments. I'm just leery of using a Toyota dealer for some of the larger services. And that's the furthest Toyota dealer from my house and I don't think I want to take it to any of the smaller Austin-area Toyota dealers.
  6. Austin Supras?

Anyone have any recommendations for a reliable service shop in south or southwest Austin? I'm not a do it myself type and had the free services done at Cedar Park Toyota but have no desire do continue using a Toyota dealer. I tried Hill Country Euro and they won't service a MKV. They...
  7. Austin Supras?

I used XPEL on Metric, near the Domain. They're a corporate XPEL location, so if you have any issues (I haven't) they're corporate, not a licensed reseller/installer.
  8. Post a pic of your first car.

Chevy Citation. Not a pic of my actual car (thank goodness there's no longer any evidence), but a reasonable example. The day I got my driver's license, I got in, enjoyed about 2 miles of freedom and the alternator died. Typical Chevy of that vintage!
  9. Austin Supras?

I wanted to add my thoughts on Toyota of Cedar Park. I just brought my Supra in for the initial 12 month/10,000 mile service. I am well under 10k miles (~2,200) but was just about at the 1-year mark and wanted to take advantage of the covered services and have the break-in oil changed out...
  10. 2

I would recommend them 100%. I didn't want to pay a markup but at the time I didn't think my deposits were going to guarantee me a car in the time that I needed to get one. Once I got over paying a little markup, they were great to work with. I chose them over dealers in Milwaukee and...
  11. 2

Your efforts are greatly appreciated. While I would definitely recommend Toyota of Escondido, I bought a 3.0 Premium from them in November and they had a markup on that and EVERY other car on their lot. I negotiated them down on their markup but I still paid a small amount above MSRP. Maybe...
  12. Austin Supras?

can anyone recommend a shop in ATX that might be able to install the ZL1 rock guards? I got the rears installed but getting the pins to push through the fender for the fronts appears to be above my (low) skill level. Thanks in advance!
  13. Austin Supras?

Yes, I tried a plastic mallet hammer. That was effective when I gave up and put the liner back. I ended up having to order a couple of packages of the BMW pins from Amazon to reinstall the liner after giving up. But getting the pins to push through the liner and the guard inserted behind it...
  14. Austin Supras?

Hey Austin Supras, new 2023 Premium AT owner here. Purchased in early November from a dealer outside San Diego after the local dealer where I had a deposit told me up to a year (after saying 4-6 months originally). I purchased the ZL1 rock guards and am having a hard time installing. I can’t...
  15. Transport recommendations.

I just used Montway Auto Transport (broker) for San Diego area to Austin. $1,469 enclosed. Would have been a little over $1k open. Picked up earlier than expected and delivered earlier as well. Definitely recommend them.
