Straight from their youtube channel, put this in your playlist:
I think they recommend resonated Touring for use with a highflow DP, which is in this video.
That song as they rev it out is such music to me.
I run factory DP with non-res Touring. Zero drone.

If no drone is your goal, AWE Touring should be on your list, 100%.
Trust me, this is the exhaust that ticks all the boxes: throaty, exciting as you rev out, zero drone, and great fitment.
Sounds like you got burned by Magnaflow's drone issues and now are looking to go way too conservative...
You sure you're not confusing AWE with AFE? The AWE system to my ears is the most throaty and mid-range sound-weighted exhaust on the market, it's not bassy at all. Most of the systems out there are bassy and droney and get quieter the higher you rev it. AWE comes alive the higher it revs, truly...
Yep, look through the hole, there is a gap there.
I didn't mean to say that all secondary cats sit this close to the primary one, some are spaced further away because of space limitations in the exhaust path. Vdubs are close together like this one.
But a secondary cat isn't monitored by an O2...
Hi guys. Yes, there are two cats in the factory downpipe.
The primary cat is circled in blue in the pic below, and the secondary cat is circled in red.
There is an air gap between them, and the second O2 sensor is at the yellow arrow. That sensor monitors the primary cat. The main O2 sensor is...
Huh, I thought we were having a convo. I'm just trying to get all the info in order, this is a confusing topic.
The EPA link I posted is clear:
Under federal law, catalytic converters may not be removed
and replaced with "converter replacement pipes' by any person.
The 1990 Clean Air Act...
True, my memory about secondary cats failed me, I went back and read some of the VW forum posts.
it wasn't the fact that emissions were elevated, it was the fact that a catalytic converter had been removed from the vehicle.
Removing a catalytic converter from a vehicle is a Federal fine with...
Cool, sounds like same dealio as VW world.
Your downpipe keeps the CEL off and readiness codes set, but it isn't EPA approved because the secondary cats were removed (that raises the tailpipe emissions).
Darn, I was hoping this was the Holy Grail of downpipes when I saw the EPA stuff!
Thanks for chiming in!
But, I'm still confused.
I know the cat is EPA approved, but you guys are selling a complete downpipe.
Is this complete downpipe EPA approved?
My emission guy is going to look for a second cat, and there won't be one.
What do I show him? Is there an EPA cert for the...
No, definitely not. There is no cat is the exhaust itself. The factory downpipe has a two stage cat in it, you can see that clearly on photos of them.
This downpipe only has a single stage cat.
Maybe they have a work around to make it EPA legal, I dunno. Really wish AA would chime in here...
I did some research on the EPA thing and I'm not sure this downpipe is legal even though the cat is EPA approved. Because the second cat is removed, the downpipe seems not to be legal even though the remaining cat is EPA approved.
Very confusing, wish AA would chime in on this. I don't want to...
Am I correct in assuming because this is EPA certified that I won't run into any emissions testing hassles? Do I just show the inspector a certificate or something?
