These don't work for track racing because of what you said the ac compressor shuts off. These operate by using ac refrigerant to cool your aftercooler cooling circuit.
I use protool app and use the fuel pump activation it has. Otherwise I do the same as you pull low pressure line off and connect a hose to run into a 5 gallon container.

Other than seeing the main line coming off my fuel pump my fix was a different system. I went with vader solutions. I didn't want to risk it happening again when I'm wot and doing damage to my engine.
Every time I see a wire tap I start to dry heave. If they used a connector that went in series with the stock harness that would be much better than a wire tap.

I went from stock turbo to t-51r 65 omega so it definitely is louder. I only have 1500 miles on the turbo so far, but I have had 0 problems so far. I know some of the guys have many more miles with 0 issues. Spool is just like stock but with way more power.
