Yes, agreed, unrelated. I couldnāt find any date ranges here other than mid 2020 builds. But lots of dates on the B58 forums. Well known problem there and BMW even had their version of a TSB out, which they later yanked from their data base.
Itās truly been a PITA and it shouldnāt have to be that way. Everyone with a 2021 built in 2020 after they locked the ECU should routinely check the oil level. Your car likely has an oil pump with plastic internals, specifically the retaining ring goes bad. When the computer stops doing it...
Well, after taking the car to a DIFFERENT Toyota dealer (per the 800 number's recommendation since the first dealer refused to do anything further "without codes"), they were able to duplicate the bad pressure numbers obtained by my Indie BMW shop (and confirmed by BMW Tech Support as needing a...
Nice tack to take. I used that when I uploaded a failure video to the complaint site. Told them I paid $94 for diagnostics and the failure mode was not fixed. Letās see. Thanks for the pro tip!
yes, until 9/20/25, so 2 more months. The customer service rep at the 800 number was understanding that the āproblemā of the computer not reading properly has not been fixed.
went back this morning, Made the service writer sit in the car and watch the failure to measure oil level happen. He spoke to the āSupra tech,ā who did not want to discuss this with the customer (me). Since there are no codes, the tech wonāt do anything further. Best they could do was to...
Interesting. Iāve tried mine from cold start after short drives. Doesnāt matter - at least for me. But Iāll try that. Thanks!
yea, itās going back tomorrow. Weāll see what they say
So, the saga begins. Took the car out of storage this Spring and it said I needed an oil change (time not miles as I had only driven it 1200 miles since 11/23 as I was down to 2mm on the front pads from track days). Anyways, got the brakes done last month and I kept checking the oil level...
I go to Schaumburg Toyota as Naperville Jake Deering is too far for me. They have a dedicated Supra service advisor Steve Krueger. I use them for LOF and warranty work, but if I need other things (like brake, rotors, etc.) I go to the WerkShop on 176 in Libertyville, they are BMW specialists.
Anyone know what the beige stuff is on the M10x1.5 bolts that hold the L&R bars to the car is? Iām replacing the ugly silver tubes and was wondering what the substance is. Anti-Seize of some sort?
Mine had 17 miles on it. Picked it up day after it dropped. But they did let me test drive a new white one 6 weeks before, and I wasnāt gentle with it ?
Agree. Itās fun 2-3x a year and it certainly wonāt hurt the car. (2021 with 19K miles and no oil burning) Full front PPF helps, although I do have a couple of nicks that didnāt āself healā from track debris.
I` had one HPDE novice track day under my belt when I did the NASA day at the same track. The lead follow was kinda meh, but the cone drills were instructive. But be careful, it will start to make you into a track rat.
