sorry you are going through this BS, but I gotta admit, itās really reassuring to know this is also impacting later builds as well, not just 6/20 or 7/20 builds
Hard to tell if I have the issue or not as I got the low oil notification after 5k miles on factory oil.
If my engine is deemed a dud and needs a replacement Iām just gonna go the lemon law route, why the fuck would I want a heart transplant in a performance car with <10k miles on it...
damn man, if I was in your shoes Iād insist they either buy back the car or swap it out with another Supra entirely.
but hopefully it all works out with the new engine and youre a happy camper
One thing Iām still confused about...when we get the low oil warning asking us to add a Quart...does that mean our engine has burned through exactly one quart of oil? Or is the notification asking us to add one quart of oil to bring it back above the minimum threshold?
I was reading somewhere...
@gcmak thats some BS from Toyota. Only 2k miles driven and low oil is not normal; CALL TOYOTA CORPORATE AND OPEN A CASE. Get it on their radar, otherwise youāre gonna get shafted.
I know exactly whatās gonna happen tomorrow when I drop off my car at the service; theyāre going to tell me that my...
2021 A91, I got the low oil notification at 4900 miles. Itās going into the dealership tomorrow.
FYI I took it easy during break in and followed manufacturer recommendation.
Update: another potential issue has surfaced on my a91.
I got a low oil warning today at 4900 miles. Does anyone feel like this is normal or would you be concerned if this happened to you? I see quite a bit of oil residue on the left exhaust tip which is indicative of excess oil burning during...
dude, call Toyota right now and open a case. Nothing is going to happen unless you do so.
when I mentioned this thread to my Toyota Corporate Customer Rep Manager, and all of the other people who are dealing with this same issue...to paraphrase her: āI could care less about what is happening to...
Just hit up Toyota Customer Care again, and opened a new case. A senior manager is supposed to give me a call tomorrow to further discuss the issue.
Im happy to go for bat on this one and represent you guys in this thread who are also having the issue. Iāll keep you posted and let you know how...
@Xxyion yeh itās the same issue. Iāve actually had both cases happen, one where I rev and it just does not go above 1.5k rpm, the other where it gets stuck and then just shoots towards redline.
IMO I donāt think this is a Safety feature, thatās BS. If it was EVERY Supra should have the exact...
I was at the Toyota dealership to pick up another set of temp tags. On my way out, started up the car and the rev issue happened! Promptly pulled in the Service Manager and showed it to him.
He said heās going to contact the Toyota Engineer to come in and drive the car around. He said the...
Guys ā itās OK ā we got smart ass @Dannyvandelft on the scene. He knows everything and as a matter of fact he built the damn engine himself!
@KillxPoint you should have told the Toyota field engineer that inspected your car that @Dannyvandelft from the Supra MKV forums said this was in the...
Mine would probably be the lowest mileage one.
2021 A91, issue started happening somewhere between 100-200 miles. Ridiculous and have not heard a peep from Toyota since I reported I opened the case with them.
One more thing to add ā for those experiencing this issue, if you have not already done so, call Toyota corporate and OPEN A COMPLAINT TICKET. Save the number for future reference. Thatās probably the only way we can get Toyotaās attention, assuming they donāt have someone browsing Internet...
Dude, itās not a cold start issue.
ive been able to replicate this issue in a variety of different conditions, recently after I drove the car hard for an hour, when the temp was 60 degrees outside, 70 degrees, and when it was cold outside. Itās literally random and HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH COLD...
