Went to the left side for lunch today and did that bitch in under 20 min.
Came to realize that the internal spindle is broken and Probbaly has been broken for a while since my parking brake light has been flashing at me for months now.
Gonna order a replacement and maybe see if I can salvage...
It seems to be straight but it did come out quite a bit when I was turning it the opposite way at the engine torq screw area. Maybe I’ll undo it again and retry
No I will try
no but I opened the brake reservoir cap to see if it would help and nothing. Fluids also at max and not past it so I don’t think it’s that. But could try. Just don’t wanna put more time into brake bleeding lol
I tried this, counter clockwise it almost had my piston fall out. Clockwise I was able to reconnect it and its snug but it doesnt come to a hard stop like online forms say nor can the piston go back anymore
What I tried:
1. lift car, put in service brake service mode, then used a tool to push back the piston.
It went a good way but only to where the piston was when I took it off, I then started to hear the motor turn as I tried to push the piston back more so I stopped so i wouldnt...
After further review. This is exactly the same issue I’m having. Did you have a fix yet? Did you do the ISTA? Can I do it myself? What all do I need?
if you did it, can you help direct me?
