Following - I have this issue as well.

I have this rack and it works very well. I mount mine on the rear window. Wish this had been available when I got mine! Also of note is the wait time (6 weeks for me) when you buy one new from seasucker.

Did you use OEM specs or something more aggressive?

Dealers aren’t fools. They can easily spot tool marks etc. and know parts have been changed.

I’d like big sound while keeping all the bangs, pops and gunshots under control. Would appreciate some thoughts on this.

Would using different tips solve the melting? It seems like using double wall or carbon overlay style tips would fix it. This is a ridiculous problem for a high end piece like this.
