Interesting to see the 91 octane notes. I think even the Supraās manual says something about āHP rating is based on premium fuel." Don't recall if it specifically says 93 or 91 octane, but I also recall reading around somewhere that BMW tends to rate HP numbers based on what the engine can...
Oh, absolutely, but it does speak a bit to Nissan's intentions with the car.
People who can buy a 40-50k car to mod off the showroom floor should arguably understand the risk they're taking, and be willing to pony up the cash if they blow it up. But as we've seen in...pretty much any...
Camissa is at it again, going into a lot of interesting details about how much Nissan tuned the Z to protect itself.
He also walked back a little of his comment about the Bridgestones.
Short notes:
Dead steering
Stock tune has boost suddenly increasing from 4-5K RPM that breaks the tires...
I'm still waiting for the track video Camissa promised on Reddit, but it's cool that he's giving us the no BS fanboying take. At least one other reviewer hinted at the Z being a bitch to control, and the Sport trim will only be worse.
I'm happy to volunteer my stock 2021 for any side by side dyno testing in SoCal. I don't think my little duckbill or Maxton aero bits add any power lol
I know even Nissan is basically saying "we know you're gonna mod it," but making big drivetrain mods to a brand new, 40k+ car isn't something I personally want to do, especially if I have a loan out on it. I wouldn't at all be surprised if the price of LSDs for the new Z go up because the ones...
I agree from an overall perspective. It's been said before, but the base Z really is for people who are either going to mod it immediately, or don't understand what it's lacking. Those narrower tires, lack of LSD, and relatively affordability are probably going to make it the next Mustang in...
Yāall really get obsessed with power numbers. Some people wanted a well balanced, beautiful (effectively) luxury sports car that got decent gas mileage with modern safety features. Itās still cheaper than the equivalent BMW, and turns heads. Of course, Iām just speaking for my girlfriend. I got...
Doesn't the Performance Z come with the same tire size as the Supra? Like 275 in the rear? Maybe the tires they chose don't have as good traction, but sure sounds like (from other reviews too) Nissan just didn't tune the thing for hooking up quickly. Even Supra folks gripe about lack of traction...
