Long weekend, was really hoping for a start up this weekend but looks like it'll have to be later.
1. Verus motor mounts with 90A bushings, so very stiff. Lesson learned: install the mounts on the motor instead of the chassis and leave some slop. There is no movement in the motor at all, this...
A few. After a few delays will be putting everything back together tomorrow.
First - I hate freight companies.
Tracking info said it would be there on I think it was a Thursday, said it was on schedule. So I take the day off to receive the motor. The day goes on, I call the company, it was...
Been a hot sec.
Let's see, had a track day at Sebring and the Pure 850 decided that was the last straw. Started smoking like a diesel truck rolling coal on the way home. Took it out, terrible shaft play and burned through a lot of oil.
Hated the Pure850, so had them downgrade it to a Pure 800...
I think I saw that one on FB before it got deleted, AMS IAT going up like 50 degrees during a mid 8 quarter mile run I think?
Which does raise a few questions, @razorlab also received some poor results on his Wagner when he had some air trapped in the system I believe.
The AMS also doesn't come...
Upcoming Track Sprint on the infield at Daytona. Found out that I'd need a roll bar to pass tech with the R888Rs. Still had the stock wheels, and I found someone to trade OEM Wheels + Tires for OEM wheels + cash so I could still run. (Time to start researching roll bar options)
Added CSG...
I toyed around with the idea of using OEM wheels to get to the track or to use on rainy track days.
Glad I kept them around, found out that I needed a roll bar with 100tw tires to run an upcoming track sprint with the SCCA. Going from Apex back to stock is definitely a downgrade in looks and...
Last video I saw of someone doing this IIRC it just added the hatch release button outside. Pretty sure to get it to only activate when it senses the key around it would need a lot more than a wire and a button. But the z4 has one I think, so a retrofit should be possible. I'm guessing at least...
Quick measurement on the table top says they're all the same height.
If it is the nut that is spinning in there, you'll definitely know when you try to take it off because it will probably spin when you try to remove it as well.
If yours is actually damaged on the threads you can always tap it and put a helicoil on it. That's assuming it's not the actual nut that's spinning in there. I can't really tell if it's just notched on the bottom or on the entire hole.

Adjustable camber plates are our preferred method for dialing in camber up front on a MacPherson strut-based suspension like the Supra’s, as tipping the strut inwards at the upper edge tends to provide more fender clearance, but we’ve also seen good results with aftermarket arms...
Hence why I said I made it up because I was confusing it with Z suspension. Been a long time since I had the suspension off on the Supra. It was just my wishful thinking it had better front suspension lol.
One main advantage for the camber plates vs the lca is I believe is supposed to be increased clearance for even wider tires. (Can't find the info on this, so thinking maybe I made that up haha)
But one other advantage would be easier camber changes for street vs track.
So what I've gathered is if you're not willing to have an extra transmission just hanging out then you're not a baller.
By virtue of having two built transmissions OP is balling out of control. He's decided to take pity on the poors by offering them a chance to be half as balling as he is...
It was sarcasm on my part. You're replacing two turbos so it will definitely cost more. Secondly, those turbos are shoved in there and you'll probably need to drop the motor to replace them. Not as diy friendly as a single turbo swap on an inline 6. So a lot of people will be paying a shop to do...
Free bump, but just wondering how he 'lied'?
'used comps' which I took as used comparable transmissions built by Pure. E.g. he was able to get a built transmission by a company with a better reputation albeit a used one for around the same price as your newly built transmission from Jacks...
So after reading that article, the Supra has a better interior, transmission, motor, front end, is faster around a track for everyone, and is a better daily driver.... yet the Z is somehow the 'better' car?
"The Supra feels like a newer car," Okulski said. "Which is to say, it has all the bad...
