Only owned the Supra a short while (needed to get something more practical for my family) and this system is actually for sale.
To answer your question, no concerns drilling behind passenger seat, but obviously if youāre going through metal, double check.
For 10ā shallow mount sub, recommend JL...
Are you running spacers in the front to fit the 275/30R19 tires? Iām looking at moving to 275F/295R on stock wheels and suspension and am curious if spacers are needed. Note this car does not see the track.
This is my thought as well. I know there are plenty of people running 275s in the front with aftermarket wheels (and in many cases, lowering springs) and just looking for someone who has done what weāre talking about. I have a good relationship with a tire shop nearby and may just have them...
You CAN just āslap larger tiresā on a rim. All wheels are specād for a range of section widths. Perhaps you are referring to the āidealā or āas-testedā section width for these wheels. I donāt care about that.
My concern lies entirely in whether or not there will be rubbing issues on UCAs or...
Morning all!
Iām looking to put some larger tires on my Supra. I like the stock wheels and will be keeping them. Has anyone run 275/30R19 front and 295/30R19 rear on stock wheels and stock suspension? Did you need spacers? Any rubbing?
Also if you went with a different aspect ratio, please...
@Sam B Iāve seen his build! Heās got some wild stuff going on. A lot more into it than I ever plan on going lol. At least for now. But thanks for the advise!
@tadda There are several guys on the local Facebook Supra group asking detailed questions about these modifications, and I have pointed them in your direction. Just a heads up!
@tadda You know a LOT more about this than I do! (One of the reasons I paid someone else to make the improvements ?).
That will be great advice for anyone else who really enjoys playing with the sound system!
Hey all!
Originally posted this in the thread discussing upgrades to OEM sound system, it was suggested that I post it here as well.
I will preface this by saying (and it will be evident in the pictures below) that I made all of the recommended modifications to the OEM speaker box. Ported the...
My biggest point on these boxes was stealth. Needed to keep as much open trunk space as possible. Iāve seen some pretty cool builds with the JL Audio 10TW3s, but they need more space than the 8s.
Cost of materials and labor was $1600 for both boxes. So about $800 apiece. I agree on the value, they are extremely time consuming to make, and even a slight error or hole in the enclosure results in distortion.
My boxes are held in by three screws apiece. As @Munkeeboi mentioned, they do...
Also, for those who prefer to have an adjustable bass knob (rather than just using the equalizer), mine is mounted above the wireless charging tray in that little cubby. Used double sided 3M tape, no drilling required.
For the inevitable āwhat did this costā question, just under $2k all inclusive. I got the speakers and amp from crutchfield. I recommend going with their āopen-boxā or āscratch-and-dentā sales. I got both of these subwoofers for nearly half off because they had tiny scratches on the back sides...
