Quick update. Took it to the dealer where they confirmed it was getting stuck open. A new Heat Management Module is on the way. Was quoted around $2k.

Just hit 50k miles. And I haven’t checked the actual valve yet but after looking a little bit into it appears it may be a thermostat issue? I am now getting a 20F20F (HMM stuck closed) plus the initial 20F210 (HMM stuck open) code simultaneously.

I’m pretty sure I’ve found the issue. I noticed this tar looking stuff on my exhaust. After looking into it, it appears to be a melted plastic bag that got caught. kind of embarrassing but relieved lol

I only notice the smell during and after driving. The smell does appear to be stronger after harder driving but is noticeable after any drive. I’ve let the car idle for 10-15 mins and did not notice anything.

haha right! Definitely flag me down if you see me, I wouldn’t mind at all. But to be honest, I don’t regret purchasing the HKS but it’s a little quiet. It’s not that much louder than stock IMO. But I love how it looks and that it retains the valve.

I was thinking about adding these as well but was wondering about water drainage. Since OEM isn’t functional, do these drain/displace water/rain decently?
