Thanks, glad to be back. Supras are my heart.. just have to stop second guessing it.
I'm pretty blown away at the growth of the community here - great to see. I wonder if the manual news will bring back others/invite more to the table.
Agreed ?
I'm a waiter. My husband has a 94 already and I've loved MKIVs since I was a teen, but just cannot justify the insane markup in pricing over the last few years. Parts are scarce and so overpriced. So many of our friends have MKIV money pits. God forbid if anything major went wrong -...
1. I'm in FL.
2. The heat went out on my '14 Rav4 (dash is currently torn apart) and this works so :dunno:
Funny... It's got 220k on it and it's the most reliable vehicle I've ever owned.
After a 3 year hiatus, I heard something about a confirmed manual so I'm back.
Still in FL and have been a Supra enthusiast since the early 2000s. Husband has a beautiful 1994 Alpine Silver 6spd T hardtop. I also have a 1993 Miata project to keep me busy until 2023. Looking forward to...
I held out hope for a long time (knowing Iād likely be disappointed). This will probably be my last post since Iāve lost interest in their product at this point. Unfortunately Toyota has lost a brand loyal buyer and longtime supporter in me and from those I know, Iām not the only one in this...
Exactly why if thereās no manual offered, Iāll just put another 6spd MKIV in the garage. Still think the MKIV is timeless in looks so it wouldnāt be a sacrifice (for me).
...and of course if car manufacturers want to completely get rid of manuals altogether (with the exception of your typical...
A70, thank you for your insight, openness, and information as you have heard it which gave many of us much needed relief from all of Toyotaās secrecy. Your posts were always diplomatic and respectful even when people like myself werenāt always the most positive :)
Wish you all the best and...
I think the MKV will satisfy many buyers that have never owned a Supra of previous generations. However, the departure of the MKV from the lineage with its BMW engine and even the fact that it is basically a BMW with a different shell over top is disconcerting.... not to mention no manual.
To...
You have a point and my 33 years forgets that sometimes. Iām sure many of those original owners whether thatās MKI, MKII, MKIII, or MKIV would love the opportunity to drive a Supra again, although I still think it will be a markedly different experience.... and I know thatās not always a bad...
Understandable if I was buying a BMW or a Lexus. The Supra should be pure sportscar... not a luxe coupe with all these extras and unnecessary creature comforts. I wish I could see the data related to the demographic theyāre hoping to sell the MKV to/who they are targeting. I feel like that would...
With market conditions Iād probably be open to a targa but my preference is of course hardtop. I wish I could find a fairly unmolested one for that 35-40k. Forum for sale sections and Autotrader have left me wishing I bought a few years ago when prices were reasonable and consistently in the...
To me and in my humble opinion, Toyota never really bothered to understand who Supra owners were to begin with. If they did, Iām pretty sure they wouldāve seen the poor fit between them and BMW for such an important car. It feels forced and with a lot of concessions. It didnāt make sense to me...
A second 6spd manual MKIV Supra. At least thatās my plan. Prices are about that now for the MKIVs so itās comparable. I donāt need new. I need a driverās car and automatics donāt do that for me (personally speaking).
And with the price point for the MKV likely being at least $50-60k (an assumption here but itās what Iām expecting), I could just add another manual MKIV to the garage.... something I surely havenāt ruled out since that was my original plan before the MKV started coming together.
Exactly where my hesitations are with the MKV right now. When you think of the MKIV, reliability, crazy boosting ability, and almost unlimited possibilities come to mind. Each gen of the Supra has built on the last (some more than others).... any kind of regression from that standard would be...
