After 16 track days on them and daily driving it, I'd say they are pretty good overall. No complaints, spring rates are a bit stiff and I keep the dampening right in the middle most times depending on the track. I think it comes down to tolerance, I've driven it 6 hours to VIR and wasnt too bad...
Haha thanks! I feel bad for thrashing them around on track but they look good from afar, like really far. 😁 You should, VIR was such a fun track. Lmk whenever you make it out to Summit. I am there almost every month with the WDCR SCCA folks.
Thanks! Yeah can't wait to go back, definitely trailering the car and packing a spare set of wheels/tires. The track walk on Saturday helped a lot but still over slowing in a few places (3 & 10) and the rain messed with my confidence to get on throttle sooner (5a, oak tree, hog pen). 😅
Build update: Got a few mods before the track season started:
HKS Hipermax R Coilovers and the aFe FSB
18x11 Titan7 TP-5 wheels to run 295s on track (Currently on 275/35s RE71-RS freebies)
Still using Regas with V730s for most HPDE days
Triple Seven GT4 hood vent
Tested the new setup at...
Last event of the year 🙁. Found a few more seconds at Dominion Raceway but still need to carry more speed through T1, T8, and T16. Optimal says 1:30.40 but feel like I could drop into the 1:29s with the current setup. Maybe next year!🤙
Yeah definitely sucks to see the car like that after an event. It's a perpetual cycle of me trying to clean off all the rubber marks just to add more at the next event 🙁
I've looked at those for next season since I want to size up in tires but the price is too good for the Hypergrams. Also...
Yup! That's the one. Lots of parking but it gets pretty packed before 10.
Haha, I try to avoid DC as much as I can because of the traffic and all the atrocious potholes. ☠
Mikey & Mel's in Fulton, MD is happening tomorrow. It's one of the bigger ones in the area. A bunch of other Supra owners normally meet up before hand as well.
Few pictures from the last track event. Liking the V730s and Project Mu Club Racers combo. Been driving on stock power the last half of the season just to relearn the car and work on consistent driving techniques.
Probably repeating all the great advice provided above but definitely go to a few track days with the car as is to see how you like it first. Stock car is more than capable as a beginner driver. Then from there you can definitely add better brake fluid, pads, tires, alignment, etc. as you...
Are you looking for a specific color? I do have a set of Supra spec Ultra Track Edition ii's in Mag Blue sitting in storage collecting dust. Probably not the best color for CU Later but lmk!
Congrats and welcome to the club! If you have Facebook there's the Mid Atlantic Supra group (https://www.facebook.com/groups/716026955833980/).
A bunch of us try to meet up for certain events and C&Cs. If you're interested in meeting some of the local Supra owners lmk!
I cooked my rotors with RPXs so I went with brand new rotors too and 4x20min sessions later the shuddering didn't stop when it finally got heat in them. We shall see if it calms down a bit this weekend. 🤞
I definitely liked the performance of the RPX/Blue setup and the fact that the bedding process isn't as crazy as the Club Racers. Hoping once the CRs are finally bedded in, the performance is what I'm looking for.
I was warned about the process but it's kind of insane, one whole track day and...
First time at Pocono Raceway. Took me 3 sessions to figure out the track and was able put down my PB last session of the day.
1) Pocono Raceway North/South CW Option 3 (Mega Course)
2) 2:02.129
3) 07/19/2025
4) Catless downpipe, Intake, Exhaust, No tune, Swift lowering springs, Verus UCW wing...
