I seem to have resolved mine. I was able to do long sessions on max power map and it never came back. So between replacing all the vanos parts and switching to 5w-40 (was on 5w-30), it didn't come back. Before I got it fixed it would trigger EVERY session.
The car is a lot more enjoyable Sport. I would say its much better in XA trim (which my car is in). At the very least you could do SST prep mods that keep it legal for Tuner2.
For B Street limitations, biggest front bar you can get. Some have had Guy Ankeny reinforce off the shelf bars like the AFE and Eibach to even stiffer. Brake pads YMMV.
I'm replacing all the VANOS components so at least it will rule out all of that. I don't recall the ID# but mine was flashed September 2022 by Toyota for a recall (I have a pre 6/20 ECU). Hopefully some good news but I only find the issue on CW direction tracks which I don't have one close by so...
If it were me, I'd take a close look at that traction links that they are the same length. Alignments don't get kinematics like that, just camber and toe in the back. They can make a good alignment but if one side is shorter than the other, when the car goes into squat or rise, it will be...
I saw on your blog you ended up replacing the bolt and saw no improvement. I'm getting this code and curious if its also a false alarm. Any other information on this?
If you're talking to me, they are new rotors that I have only ran on the street and was doing pulls for my tuner and managed to recreate it that way (in Mexico of course). tl;dr, new rotors didnt fix my problem
In my case they were new but bedded CSG C21 Front/CP Rear that had been bedded. Rotors were old but now are new fronts, rears I think are fine because the shudder is from the front but might replace the rear rotors and pads (going to CSG C11). It's really weird because the car stops just fine...
I have the same issue. I thought it was warped rotors (first two sessions were drying conditions on Day 1) the first two day track days. Put on new rotors and experienced it again. Using Castrol SRF with it well bled so I don't think its that. Nothing is loose, even had a friend go over...
Take a close look at the app you wish to use. Some don't support very many devices though most of that is based on your OS. I think the leading two are the Dual XGPS 160 and the other is the Qstarz 818GT. Both are more than your $100 price point but do iOS and Android and most apps support. I...
If you want the ultimate in simplicity, IMO get an AIM Solo2 (non-DL). Stand alone and just works. If you want video and overlays then it gets much more complicated. I had been using a racecapture mk2 but I grew sick of the limits/problems so I sold it this past winter. I'm going to start the...
This is unfortunately where we all have bias like you might on say a car or oil brand. I trust just a few people to valve shocks. Shaftworks, Proparts USA, and MCS thru Karcepts. I'm sure there are others but I either have no or conflicting experience with them. The issue with the Supra is there...
Only KW can rebuild KWs. They don't do custom valving based on your requests. If you ever drive a car with properly customized valving, its one of the biggest eye openers there is in motorsports. Speed mostly comes from confidence and the right shocks give you tons.
I would only buy something a top 3rd party shock builder can rebuild/revalve for you. This is a big reason KW shouldn't be in your scope IMO and I've owned a few sets of KWs. Ohlins plus is they are one that can be. No experience with CKS, but I'd probably opt for 1 way customs or MCS for...
Yeah Bryan and I have talked quite a bit on FB so I'm far less intimidated by the seat change so that's on the list for this year. I have a cusco bar I painted red in my car. I'm trying not to buy anything for a month or two to see what the car needs next from use rather than winter bench racing. :)
Thanks I saw that and think it's hugely interesting. I guess I should fully explain there is some complications here since I autox heavily as well as planning to run this in SCCA Max at TTN along with a local TT series. I skipped the dive planes while I put on all the other bits and now...
