If they lower the price of the competition models I am all for it. If not then yes, it is horrible.

Pretty sure this is how it works in the UK anyway. Don't think it really changed anything when it happened. There is a benefit of M car specs being generally better so if you are on the second hand market its easier to find a better standard of car. Prices will be higher though... Sorry!

Does this mean no more manuals in the M cars? I would assume so, especially as they move toward electrification.

I miss the good old days (back in the 80’s/90’s/early 2000’s) when having an //M car meant something special.

Then they diluted it by creating the M-sport and you soon had m badging on something that would’ve been a regular standard sport package back in the day.

Our society today (and for like 10-15 years now) is all about faking the funk and being a total poser. We have M badges, AMG badges, even Lexus f-badges.

The manuals are gone.

This is why I bought my Supra.

It's all happening exactly how I thought it would go and that's not a good thing.
