Hey guys just seeing if you guys know the reason for this. This happened 2x to me. I cold started the car, back it down the driveway (slight downhill), put into drive, started to drive, car hesitated, then goes into neutral by itself (error message pops up saying car is in neutral), then shuts off. I was able to start back up and drive just fine.

That’s what happens when the throttle hesitation issue goes as far as causing the car to stall out. Happened to me once when I tried to play with the throttle when the hesitation was occurring to see what difference it made. The difference is, it stalls.

I have experienced the throttle hesitation a few times and in one instance my car did completely stall out which was extremely irritating. I just USUALLY have been not turning sport mode on till I drive a few miles and have yet to have another issue. I am going in tomorrow for the DCM update though and I have been reading supposedly them updating whatever other things on the car they need to before the DCM that people haven't experienced the issue since which is hopeful

I have been turning the traction and stability completely off (hold button down, not just pressing it) and haven’t had the issue since doing that. Just turn them back on when it’s up to temp as it doesn’t seem to happen when everything is warmed up.

I do hope so. That is the only reason I would have this done. However, it was said the brake recall also fixed the hesitation issue and that turned out to be false so I’m not holding my breath. Will be crossing my fingers though.

Ok I BimmerCode coded my car to start in sport mode, might change it back to normal. I will try turning off traction and stability. Other experience I had with throttle hesitation, the car never stalled, so I thought this was something different. Thank you guys for your input!

My car stays in Sport 100% of the time so you won’t need to code that back if you don’t want to.
