I've been experiencing problems with my 2026 3.0 and CarPlay. Suddenly, about three weeks ago, my radio began shutting down about every 30-40 seconds. To restore, I had to push the On/Off button twice. I eventually tracked the issue to my CarPlay. If I toggled it off, the problem disappeared. I tried to reset CarPlay several times by wiping all the data on my iPhone and reinstalling. No luck. BTW, the problem is also affecting my 2025 Lexus ES. Thoughts, or assistance?

An update: I eventually contacted Apple support, and they suggested I reset the Network settings, and the problem seems to be resolved. I will have to drive the car several times over the next few days to ensure the issue is completely resolved.

What version of iOS? Did it start happening recently? There was a new version of iOS 26 a few weeks ago. Any chance you phone is overheating?

Have you looked at your phone's logs?

Settings > Privacy & Security > Analytics & Improvements > Analytics Data

Try to search for CarPlay, car, or the general time it happened.

Thanks for the help. Yesterday I contacted Apple Support, and they finally resolved the problem. They had me delete Malwarebytes, my VPN, and change my iPhone's name. Which of those resolved the problem? Who knows? But I don't plan on reloading those apps or returning to my old phone's name.

I’ve got the same issue on my 2021. It happens once a week or two. No idea what could be causing it but I’d assume it’s something with the head unit. I’ve done the standard BimmerCode stuff but nothing else I’d think would affect it.

Try deleting the VPN on your phone if you have one installed. That, and changing the name on my iPhone, also contributed to the repair.

Sorry for the late response. The issue was the phone the whole time. After dicking around with Apple support for close to a month, I finally called Verizon support. After hearing all the fixes Apple suggested that didn't work, the specialist said he'd replace the phone at no cost. They overnighted the new phone, and since then I haven't had any trouble.

Yes, sorry for the confusion. The issue was identical in my Lexus ES350. That's why I tried to explain to the Apple Support specialists that both cars have the same issue and that using the same phone would point to a phone problem. Apparently, that was too much common sense for Apple Support, as Verizon support got it right away and sent me a new phone.
