The location of the OEM hole is not ideal. Wouldn't look right if it just came straight out. This design has a custom hook that is slightly offset. The placement looks a lot better.Any thoughts on making a version with a circular opening lined up with the tow hook threads for those of us that have a hook already?
Any idea on a timeframe? The location of the OEM hole is not ideal. Wouldn't look right if it just came straight out. This design has a custom hook that is slightly offset. The placement looks a lot better.
Would you be willing to sell me the open vent cover, and the CAD program for the Tow hook? I have a Machine friend who can make me the Tow hookI am checking out a few shops to either cast or CNC machine the tow hook in 17-PH steel. I want to get a batch ready some time in July, but no promises yet. I should have a better idea of timeline once I get a solid quote from them.
Sorry, I don’t sell my CAD files.Would you be willing to sell me the open vent cover, and the CAD program for the Tow hook? I have a Machine friend who can make me the Tow hook
coming right up!As a fellow Canadian in Ontario, would love the vented to match the intake duct, but would need license plate option![]()
Are these finally for sale?coming right up!
I will take it uncoated. I will do the coating myself. Please send me an invoice.I bit the bullet and got molds made for the plastic covers. Huge investment, but don’t need to waste time trying to manufacture in-house. Each batch will be ready all at once.
For the actual hook I didn’t want to use chromoly since it will rust the second the coating gets scratched, pretty much after the first time it gets used. So after talking to a bunch of experts, I decided to use an alloy called 17-4PH. It has twice the tensile strength of chromoly, but has the corrosion resistance of stainless steel. So it won’t rust no matter how rough you use it.
The last piece of the puzzle is deciding on the right finish for the hook. I wanted something better than powder coating. Originally red PVD seemed perfect because it looks high end and is super scratch resistant but apparently it doesn’t like the nickel content of 17-4PH. Once that’s sorted out full production will start.
I am also working on the license plate holder add-on and also possibly a tow strap version if people are interested in a strap instead of the circular hook.
