I was out on the Appalachian Trail and didn't see the race until yesterday. It looks like Max and Red Bull are back for real. I kind of felt bad for Lewis getting passed at the end. Ferrari just seems to have issues when it comes to strategy?

That one was on Lewis, and he apologized for it.
He made the strategy calls and they were the wrong calls.

I hope it gets you hooked. But I don't know that COTA is a great spectator track... at least not the way I like to spectate. I like wandering around the track and photograph it from various places.

I agree COTA can be challenging place to get around with limited views, but there are a few vantage points where you can see multiple corners.
-Turn 12 stands can get you views in corners 12-17 (most passing happens at end of this straight as well).
-Turn 4 stands you can see corners 2-6.

Kimi on pole could makes today's race an exciting opportunity, even if it is a long shot for him to wrap up the championship today.

You are probably right, but I prefer tracks like Sebring, Daytona (road course), MidOhio, Road America and Road Atlanta were I can walk around from corner to corner and get pretty good photos.

Pretty good race, Kimi with an amazing job again.
Max also looking strong again.
Kimi should have it wrapped up in Mexico unless something goes very wrong!

3 world driver champions all on stage at once today.

This year's #1 is settled. The race for 2, 3 and I guess 4 if you want to go there is still going to be interesting!

Incredible thing Kimi did this year, and only way that finish could have been better was to be on the top step.
He got to share the podium with two greats as he clinched the championship though.
Much deserved, and it’s hard to find any fault with Kimi, so much talent and such a great kid and personality.
I think all the drivers are happy for him and they all seem to like him.
Great job by the whole team.

It’s got to be tough for George and a hard pill to swallow.
He’s a great driver, Kimi is just better.
George has loads of experience but sometimes experience can hold you back a bit.
He will always try to win and figure out where he is losing performance but I think Kimi just has a bit more raw talent and is just a lot more hungry.
It’s rough though when the 2nd season 20 yr old rookie smokes the senior driver.
Will Kimi be the lead driver on the team now?

Ferrari continues to fight each other harder than the other teams.
That could have ended up even worse for them than it did.
Not sure what they are going to do but it’s not a great look and pretty sure the Ferrari top brass aren’t happy about it.

Ocon being dropped from Haas after P2 was shocking but I can’t blame them given the situation.
He’s one of the few drivers I never liked, seems like a douchebag and he was a terrible teammate when he was at Alpine.
Good riddance, there’s so much young talent out there, no need to waste a spot on that guy.

Aston continues the total disaster.
Double DNF within a few laps.
I wouldn’t be shocked if they dump Honda at the end of the season.
It’s crazy how far off they are from when they supplied for Red Bull.

Bottas is lucky that situation didn’t end very badly.
Front suspension exploding on braking at almost 200mph is crazy.
It got slowed down quite a bit but was still a pretty hard impact on the barrier, hoping he is all ok.
He walked away but looked a bit shaken.
Cadillac not doing too well this year.
First year no one expects much, but you can only use that excuse so long before the replacements start.

Can’t wait to see what else Kimi pulls off this year.
The pressure is mostly off now and he can either chill or go all out.
Knowing Kimi, I suspect he will still keep pushing hard.
He’s got a bright future and looking forward to watching him for a long time.

I completely agree with everything you said!

I think Kimi will be the #1 driver at Merc next year. George makes a lot of money being the #2 driver at one of the 3 or 4 best teams in F1. Don't complain, or leave for greener pastures, just suck it up, try harder and do your job!

I think Charles just doesn't like being #2 to a old dude like Louis. I hope the team management can get control of the situation.

Ocon has been an ass everywhere he has been. I wouldn't let him drive for my F1 team even if he was willing to do it for free! But who drives for Haas the rest of this year?

I think Aston will stick with Honda for at least another year. Honda lost a lot of key people when Red Bull and Ford took over.

Cadillac has a long way to go. Will Bottas be back next year? Will Herta get the job? BTW, I think he would be a mistake. He just can't be as helpful to an F1 team as some others might.

I really want to see Audi get a revised engine and be more competitive next year. And big, long term picture, I'd love to see Toyota take over at least as the engine supplier to Haas... maybe even take over the team. But I seriously doubt that either will happen.
