Front side market light malfunction help?

Hey guys,

So the orange side marker on my passenger side went out while driving. I took the car to Toyota and they replaced the headlights under warranty and still have the same issue...Any idea to what could cause this so I can communicate it to the dealer?

Faulty sensor or short somewhere. Take it back to the dealer

One of the side markers is on and the other is not. Maybe thats where the short or loose connection is

Update: Got the car back from the dealership and still have the same issue...currently waiting for parts and have to drop off the car again. They want to replace the heat sink? I really don't see how that helps but what do I know lol

That makes more sense! I'm going back again in a week or two fingerscrossed. I'll keep this thread updated with all the updates and I'll take back any inputs from the members here to them

Also, just an FYI, they didn't actually replace the entire headlight unit. They only replaced the LED unit. Pretty sure that it controls the DRL/turn signal and the side marker. IIRC, @Guff had to replace this module to get his turn signal working again?

Does the turn signal still work on the headlight? If so, probably not the LED unit.

So here's the interesting part...I looked up this part number on the work order as well and you're right it's the whole headlight unit, but I had minor swirl marks on the light and it's all gone. They have replaced the whole unit but hasn't been recorded for some reason. Makes me wonder

Turn signals, DRLs, low beam, high beam, everything works visually and no errors from the car. Just the stupid side marker. Wish I could code it off and not deal with it
