I got the matte hood vents, front vents and black Crome exhaust tips. It add a subtle special overall look. Stormgreysupra could not have been better to work with.

Hey guys,

I've seen it asked a couple of times and wanted to share my findings.

Question: "Due to the vents being open, does water get into the engine bay and cause issues?"

Answer: No.

I washed the car yesterday and purposely did not change a thing about how I washed it to ensure I had a baseline. For reference, I use the two bucket method for mitts and brushes and, utilize a pressure washer for foaming and rinsing.

Through a nice long foam bath, 2-3 passes with a wash mitt and brush, multiple rinses where I sprayed directly on the vents, all the way through to opening the hood to see where the water drained... nothing ever ended up in the engine bay. All the water drained out through the appropriate channels. The only thing I saw different was more water draining out when I lifted the hood. Post wash video below...

Very happy with the results. Not going to lie, I had my concerns as well but Oliver and team at SupraMod have developed a great product.

I wanted to share some visuals with you guys in hopes that it helps someone.

Front vents in gloss black including vinyl wrap install.

OEM vs. gloss black

Traced and cut vinyl wrap to fit the space

Used a Wagner heat gun to adhere the wrap and an X-ACTO knife to cut the excess material including where the clips go into the bumper

Installed

Hope you enjoyed and let me know what you think.

Hey Brandon!

Love the attention to detail with the vinyl. It looks amazing and compliments your gloss black hood vents perfectly!

Thank you for the detailed photos!

Matte hood vents are sold out. We should have more available in about a month.

We do have a couple more sets of gloss black left though.

Will be on the look out for the matte black. I like the satin/matte finish, keeping it oem'ish. Will purchase both together. Thanks for the update!

Would also love it if you could design and address all of the other fake vents; I.e doors and the rear even if there is no performance value it still would be awesome vs. solid fake ones

We were actually brainstorming ideas for these today. We thought about making fake vent covers for the door and rear bumpers with a larger nicer fake vent. However, we think it simply wouldn't be a good solution. The cost/value wouldn't be there to upgrade your fake vents to different fake vents.

What we instead decided on doing is making an entire door garnish replacement with a completely different style fake vent that will transform the look of the car drastically.
