Worried I might have messed up the threading for the tow hook receptacle the front of the car trying to get the Perrin license plate kit installed. I managed to strip the Perrin stem piece, but I get anxious when trying to put the regular tow hook in. It seams screwed in well, but I can see still see some thread. When you guys put the included tow hook in, does it tighten with some thread exposed (maybe two or three lines) or none? I emailed Perrin to see if they'll send me a replacement stem piece, but I'm more concerned with the car at the moment. I admit I'm not much of a DIYer, but this shouldn't have been difficult at all.

Update: I compared the rear tow hook receiver to the front and there is definitely something wrong. The front threading looks a bit chewed up. I installed and uninstalled the tow hook a few times, and cleaned out debris, now I’m able to secure it like normal. The stem part from the Perrin kit is toast, but crossing my fingers they’ll be nice enough to send me out a replacement.

Update: I ended up buying another kit while I waited for Perrin to respond (they've been swamped lately), and the new kit went on without issue. The guy from Perrin called me today...apparently there were a small number of the first batch of these kits that where threaded in such a way that they didn't work right with some Supras. I must have been the lucky recipient of one of those kits. They're going to send out a new piece, so I'll be able to put together a complete kit again. Once that arrives someone can feel free to make me a reasonable offer (kit+shipping) to take if off my hands.
