2020 3.0 - I drove 7 hours yesterday, about an hour or two in my steering wheel felt strange. Almost like there is a notch or detent at top dead center. When it's happening, you can't really steer dead straight, the notch feeling moves you a tiny bit left or a tiny bit right. This happens at all speeds. I've seen another post on here describing the issue, but no one found a proper solution. I drove the car this morning and it was gone. This seems a bit dangerous and definitely not working as intended. Does anyone have any insight on what this might be?

I have the same notch feeling after maybe 30 minutes of driving mostly straight. It goes away once I make a turn or wiggle the steering wheel left and right a little bit when stopped. I started noticing it about a year ago.

I did a little research on this and saw a post on a BMW forum with similar issue. I think someone replaced the steering column and the issue went away. This is a wild guess but I think the grease in the steering column settles after a long drive and causes this notch feeling.
