So I'm thinking about hosting the Supras vs the Dragon 2026 (Skipped 2024-25). What would you like to see with a gathering of supra enthusiasts? What month? I'm going to be local to Knoxville come June, but I can make basically any weekend throughout the year.

Please be respectful when conversating in here. There are a lot of personalities and they tend to clash.

Do we want an itinerary for drives? Do we want to all go in for a single AirBnB/Vrbo or would you rather be resposible for your own lodging?

this sounds fun! I'm in DE and can get some PTO to make this happen for sure. Assuming this has been done before, how was it done then?

Just a quick meeting about the area, quick safety callout (Maintain lane, don't overdrive, use best judgement) and went about. Didn't have any itinerary that calls out routes or time commitments.

Half of them got split up due to unfamiliarity of the area + traffic separation. But those that stuck with the group seemed to have fun?

I'd be interested. Not sure how many ppl would be needed for a group rate but Fontana Village would be nice spot for lodging. I'll also say some sort of scripted route would be best if it has a lot of ppl as someone is bound to get lost at some point. Would also say not June, July or August for the traffic and heat.

I’m down for this… used to do it with some Miata buddies (though I avoid MATG because it is a zoo). So many good roads to explore in that entire area.
For me it would all depend on timing and what my work schedule was like.
Would it be limited to MKv owners or are other marques welcome?

Fontana is under new management (again), and prices are astronomically high. Comically high.

While MKv's preferred, it's a public road and I would never be so stuck up as to turn someone away. Just bring a positive attitude.

Depending on how the schedule fell with my daughter's visitation rotation, I would be down!

I've been attending the Wookies in the Woods event annually at Fontana Village since 2016 (VW Golf R event in April). It's an amazing area with some of the best roads in the country. I took my Supra a couple of years back and I had just finished my build, it was like taking a sledge hammer to pound in a nail out there. Cherohala skyway out to Tellico Plains was an incredible drive though as it has a lot more long sweepers to stretch the legs. Living in CLT, i'm always game to hit the mountains for some driving, would all depends on timing.

Hosted one with my previous car group and got upwards of 50 cars some years, lodging limit while still finding a place that could accommodate was 8-10 unless you wanna get real cozy with your new friends. There are a few "compound" BnB/VRBO with multiple units. Weekdays/Mornings are the best for the tail, all the surrounding roads are great almost all the time. Depends on what you want to maximize.
Summer is hot, fall is gorgeous mid-end OCT but can be busy depending on weekend but very worth it.

Semi structured days worked out best for us
-Morning meet location, usually fontana dam or the basin or even the Robbinsville ingles to get everyone together and a brief pre day meeting
-Afternoon meet/regroup or lunch to see what everyone is feeling or go to the next drive
-Dinner/ hangouts etc at specific location.

typically didn't lose too many unless they went off to do their own thing in bryson or something.

Did this ever occur, or a date set? I'm in MD, would like to go down to the tail at some point.
