also, for the external gps, use 3m dual lock to attach to your dashboard, as forward as you can, on the pass side. i run a usb cable to the cig lighter so it turns on with the car.
race Chrono vs catalyst

Man I really like Catalyst the Playskool layout for someone like me. Mega basic. Great job on your integration with all the other data.

I'll be there on the 11th. I'll go ahead and order the MX+ since it works for you and the RaceChrono community.

Unfortunately I bought the CX about a week after I bought the car in 2021 so I can't return it. Not a big deal!

Are you using a GoPro too? I'm seriously debating adding one of those as well.
I have the CX as well and too late to return. Iā€™m shocked how well the little Catalyst camera works. But it doesnā€™t give the inside drivers angle where you can see your hands and horizon. The GoPro is much easier to mount, they say.

Are you going to apply a little sandpaper to your old rotors, remove the transfer film so they mate better with the new pads? I know a proper bed in should do this. But when switching pad brands Iā€™ve found the best success with that method. Just curious.

Glad you got it all worked out for the weekend. Should be a blast šŸš€

I really would have rather bought a Catalyst, a GESI downpipe, a HANS Hybrid, or an OMP WRC-R with the money I spent on the pads, but it just wasn't in the cards this year.

The RaceChrono Pro is working WAY better with the powered GPS antenna. I was happy with the performance at The Glen.

Next step is to get the data logging working. After I'm happy with that, I'll look at video capture either with my phone camera or a GoPro Hero of some sort.

I bought some new Zimmerman Z-coated rotors from FCP Euro that I'm going to use with the opulence pads. The pads were $300 more than the set of rotors. šŸ¤Ŗ

The old rotors that I used with the PMU pads are going on the shelf until I get another set of front pads. The rear pads as well as the front and rear rotors actually still look okay. It's a bummer I couldn't find a set of front PMUs anywhere, that's really all I needed.

Decided to pick up the rear traction bars too to hopefully eliminate the last of the bump steer. Hopefully these will make Turn 9 at Thompson feel a lot better.

Looks like the rubber dust covers on my calipers are starting to give up the ghost. I'll replace these this winter.

New pads and traction arms.

Luckily it's just a 1/4-20 stainless steel socket head cap screw and the Ace two miles from my house has replacements. I bought a handful.

I also found out that Invisible Glass removes OPR (track marks) extremely well. I had a gnarly one on my windshield after The Glen, and Invisible Glass took it right off. I tried it on some of the really bad spots on my car and it seems to work very well.

Looking forward to Lime Rock Park on the 11th.

Light sanding to the rotors to remove OEM brembo material first?
i don't. it is an agressive material it will sand and or smear its own coating

i do 50-10, 60-10,70-10,70-10, 70-10, 90-10 that will get a good base. and then on track you will feel it laying down more material trick is to get an even transfer. If it goes on uneven or you get any shuddering, just drive and brake even harder at the track.

Dang dude youā€™re going to have sooooooooo much fun! Especially with such an aggressive pad šŸ¤¤

Iā€™ll look into my caliper dust covers as well. Those are pretty crispy šŸ«¢ Do you have a part number for them yet? Probably cheap to pick up Iā€™d assume

It's been an awesome summer!

No PN yet, I'll be looking at doing the work in a few weeks after my last few HDPEs for the year.

Hopefully I'll have some coilovers to go on the car as well...šŸ˜

Haha, unfortunately they don't do that šŸ˜«šŸ˜
I didnā€™t think they would but wouldnā€™t hurt asking. Great job sheā€™s got though šŸ˜
