Description:

BMW G2x/G4x monoballs have had their application coverage expanded to now include the BMW G29 Z4 and Toyota GR Supra!

An underrated component of a proper driver's suspension, the monoball kit (tension strut ball joint kit in today's terminology), is a remnant of an era when road feel was something desirable and sought after. Drivers wanted the visceral feel of being connected to the road as the motorsport heritage of BMW M (or Toyota’s GR division) demanded. Dinan embraced this and over the years mastered its craft into a kit that not only satisfied the desire for proper road feel but also made it livable for everyday driving. While stock suspension properties may have swayed from its golden era lineage to more mainstream ideals, Dinan is here to correct those mistakes for those that want a more M-passioned BMW experience.

The Dinan Tension Strut Ball Joint Kit provides responsiveness you can feel by replacing the rubber bushings in the thrust arms with precision ball joints and machined aluminum housings. Improves responsiveness by eliminating the deflection inherent in the stock rubber bushings while also reducing brake shimmy. The quietest bearings on the market are virtually noise-free so you can live with them every day. These are the only bearings on the market that are sealed using a rubber boot to keep out dirt and road grime stopping them from wearing out prematurely.

Paired together with the Dinan Rear Toe Link Kit (D280-0025) front and rear suspension deflection is nearly eliminated providing the best possible drivers feel.

Features/Benefits:
  • Improved steering responsiveness
  • Reduces brake shimmy
  • Nylon-lined bearings for quiet operation
  • Machined aluminum housings
  • Sealed bearings that are the quietest on the market

Nice, do you sell replacement bearings?
Doesnt look like it. All I see is # D283-0035 which is the bearing and housing assembly as one unit. Even at that, the individual part number doesnt pull up in the system yet.

Oh and there is only one in stock!

We can technically sell the ball joint on its own but it's not something we list. It would be a replacement part via the tech/support/warranty team and handled directly through them.

I can only assume you are getting your info through the B2B portal or a mix of data from instructions and/or other sources but regardless -- the B2B portal and website will only show finished good pieces but not sub assembly / raw components. The next tier of BOM components (like D283-0035) that are listed in the instructions still have multiple levels behind them as well but will never populate on anything but our internal systems. However, you are correct there is only 1 in stock and built up at present. Since this was just an additional application to an already existing part they can be built up relatively quickly I wasnt too concerned with waiting on additional stock to be built before public acknowledgement. Suspension stuff in general is more of a slow burn sales wise. I would be ecstatic if there was a run on a dozen of the things but that just doesnt happen on "unsexy" parts like links and monoballs even if I personally think they hold much more value and enjoyment to the driving experience then a lot of engine modifications that are more popular. I digress -- we can build another dozen or so pretty quickly and beyond those the missing components to build more are screws and what not which we can get in 24 hours so supply in the short term at least isn't a huge concern.

To be honest, this particular part should have been released to the Supra about 9 months ago but it got lost in the shuffle somewhere along the way. Didn't realize it til we were just about to release the toe links and were like, "did we not do/validate monoballs?" Crossed the last of those t's so to speak this last week so here we are. =)
