The asterisk next to everything says estimated, and I'm glad its an estimate cause that is f******n b*******t...why would they price that car at 65k...thats insane and unrealistic for a Toyota

40k I believe. Adjusted for inflation, we are pretty close to 54k. However, that was a bad price point since it led to the discontinuation of the Supra...few people could afford to buy it.

Also, nowadays you can get a fully loaded Mustang for 39k...with HP in the 400s...it does not make sense to price the Supra at 65k...

I guess we'll have to wait and see what technology the new Supra has to offer. Although I do agree with you on modern cars with high numbers in power.

460hp for 2018 GT and it's more mid 30s since they almost always comes with rebates. I don't mean to discredit a car not yet out, but it's going to have stiff competition.

That's a bargain but I am going crazy waiting for the debut! I was also in a market for a RCF and hopefully the wait is worth it.

Hmm What AM I driving?
It's actually a very clever system! I definitely recommend reading on it. The CVT allows for gears 1, 2, & 3 to be split into 3 ratios each, thus creating a 10 ratio transmission with 4th gear being a dedicated final overdrive.

It remains to be seen if this system makes is way into a Supra though.
Definitely, Its the same transmission on the LC 500 H maybe this is a hint at the "Hybrid" Part of this equation. I wouldn't trust this info just yet. There might be more than one trim, this might just a hint at a Hybrid. Also if the HP numbers are that high this means that the Next RC or whatever replace it could push even higher numbers.

Current curb weight estimates for the new z4 is around the 3000-3200lbs range. This would include additional weight penalties such as being a convertible and containing luxury amenities.

Assuming this is accurate, the Supra can potentially be in the lighter range of this estimate being that it would be a hardtop and likely containing a Spartan interior (relative to the BMW interior).

Add a 480 HP V6TT to this setup and I can realistically see this as a $65k vehicle that would put similar curb weight vehicles like the 718 Cayman S and Lotus Evora 400 on notice.

65,000 is kind of strange. That would put the price close to the RCF. Also the RCF should be getting a mid cycle update soon based on some spy shots taken. And considering the price of the new LS and LC I won't be surprised if the RCF comes in @ 65,000. And at that price I Know a lot of people would take luxury and performance over just performance. Only if its reasonable lightweight

lol 80% of whats written is incorrect

price is $50-60k range, base engine is not 3.5L, does not have anywhere NEAR those power levels, and the two trans options are 8A/DCT
The price is good to know. I kind of figure 65,000 is getting close to RCF territory. But the power dough lol. Is it very comparable to 911 paper specs or better? am talking upward of 370hp and torque with weight close to 3100lb

the car was testing at the mid-300 level on the Ring and weighed just north of 3000lbs in testmule guise. my understanding is that they were not sure how much power is needed to make the car marketable, but that is was already impressive in performance as far as what it was doing on the track.

so many things can change though, especially when it comes to things like power level and options.
