Any hypothetical LC performance car will have to be extremely fast on the Ring to justify its price.

Ultimate competitor likely 911 GT3/AMG GTR
then logically, a GRMN A90 would sit, in terms of benchmarks, between the AMG GTR/GT3 RS/hypothetical TT LC (7:10ish) and a 7:40 (cayman S) ring time I guess....

That said, I would love to see the GRMN A90 model beat the LFA nurburging package time (7:14)

pretty much. hypothetically, the LC performance car would probably be several seconds faster than a possible A90 top tier performance variant; that is a massive amount in terms of 'Ring time comparisons.

none of this is finalized though, so.

With over $25k in upgrades, they were only able to squeeze ~50hp out of the LC's V8??? This is what bothers me so much about post-2000 Toyota, they lost their "edge" in providing solid foundations for tuning.

Now, they make engines in such a way that all the power potential has been squeezed out of them from the factory, and any chance of forced induction would either blow the motors because of the high compression, or put you in limp mode because of the restrictive ecu. Maybe this BMW collaboration is indeed needed.

that's an N/A figure and they don't mention any cam upgrades; they do mention building it to hold double that power, which I would expect given the sleeves etc. for that increase in stroke, it also sounds like they went super conservative with the tune too.

the 2URGSE is actually a great mod platform even stock.

2022 Lexus LC F: More Power, Less Weight
Over 600 horsepower and more carbon fiber.

What It Is: A high-performance package for the seductive coupe.

Why It Matters: Despite the base car’s available 471 horsepower, the V-8 struggles to move the obese LC500’s nearly 4400 pounds of mass. More power and less weight benefit not only humans but cars, too.

Platform: Like all LCs, the F will be based on the GA-L platform. Carbon fiber and other lightweight body materials will reduce mass. Aggressive front and rear fascias plus hood and fender ventilation will maximize airflow to keep things cool.

Powertrain: Succumbing to the trend, Lexus will replace the LC500’s naturally aspirated V-8 with a twin-turbocharged 4.0-liter V-8 making north of 600 horsepower. A 10-speed automatic will handle gearchanges. An updated, lightened torque-vectoring differential will work in conjunction with the latest version of the brand’s Vehicle Dynamics Integrated Management system, augmenting the LC F’s capabilities on the track.

Competition: Acura NSX, Chevrolet Corvette, Jaguar F-type SVR, Mercedes-AMG GT R, Porsche 911.

What Might Go Wrong: Showing up late to the party without enough speed for everyone.

Estimated Arrival and Price: The LC F will arrive as a 2022 model with a price approaching $200,000

I think it's more an Aston competitor than a GTR competitor. It's a luxury supercar. Not necessarily a performance car.

I hate Lexus now....just because they stole the MKIV engineers for their own selfish reasons. They ate the Steak and Lobster, and gave Toyota the potatoes and peas.
